NASA tells Barack Obama Australia is destroying earth with coal emissions

The Daily Telegraph

AUSTRALIA'S use of coal and carbon emissions policies are guaranteeing the "destruction of much of the life on the planet", a leading NASA scientist has written in a letter to Barack Obama.
The head of NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies, Professor James Hansen, has written an open letter to Barack Obama calling for a moratorium on coal-fired power stations and the use of next-generation nuclear power.

In the letter he says: "Australia" Australia exports coal and sets atmospheric carbon dioxide goals so large as to guarantee destruction of much of the life on the planet."

Prof Hansen said goals and caps on carbon emissions were practically worthless because of the long lifetime of carbon dioxide in the air.

“Instead a large part of the total fossil fuels must be left in the ground. In practice, that means coal,” he wrote.

“Nobody realistically expects that the large readily available pools of oil and gas will be left in the ground.”

Prof Hansen said that emissions reduction targets, like Kevin Rudd’s goal to cut emissions by a minimum of 5 per cent and up to 15 per cent by 2020, do not work.

“This approach is ineffectual and not commensurate with the climate threat,” he wrote of reduction plans.

“It could waste another decade, locking in disastrous consequences for our planet and humanity.”

Professor Hansen also works in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Columbia University and has given testimony on climate change to the US Congress.

He said he wrote to Mr Obama as the incoming US president is in a position to instigate global change and "his presidency may be judged in good part on whether he was able to turn the tide (on climate change) - more important, the futures of young people and other life will depend on that".

He called for the end of coal plants that do not capture and store carbon dioxide and for funding for "fourth generation" nuclear power plants that could run on material now regarded as waste.

Comment is being sought from climate change minister Penny Wong.

Australia's only hope it seems, could be in our very own Minister for Village Idiocy, aka the Minister for Climate Change, Mrs Penny Wong, immediately commandeering Kevin 07's personal wind powered environmentally friendly turbo charged Penny Farthing and leaving for the White House to seek a personal audience with the incoming "warmist in chief" and former "community organizer" to assure him that Kevin 07 has promised to drag Australia back to the dark ages with enviro TAXES and abolition of the middle class and aspirational Australians, and that hopefully most of us will simply starve to death in the dark before anyone notices, Pol Pot's year zero if you like, implemented by the Australian Labor Party's most caring and sharing environmentally friendly Green storm troopers and enviro Nazi's (definitely no plastic bags will be used in the culling process)

Remember!! The people who believe in Global Warming / Climate Change and want CO2 declared a poison
are the same people, who would have you believe, that

Pres.GWBush to award former PM Howard US Presidential Freedom Medal

Bush gives Howard US Presidential Freedom Medal

FORMER prime minister John Howard will receive the US Presidential Medal of Freedom at a White House ceremony next week.

The award is said to be the highest civilian honour bestowed by a United States president.

Mr Howard is being honoured for his role in fighting terrorism and for standing by the US as an ally during his 11 years as prime minister.

The award also recognises the extremely close relationship that developed between Mr Howard and President Bush who dubbed the former Australian PM as a man of steel.

"Yes, I am honoured by it, more because of the compliment it pays to our country Australia," Mr Howard told ABC Radio.

"It's an indication of the very close relationship between our two countries and I'm very pleased that during the time as prime minister I was able to contribute too."

It was testament to the "very obvious" personal warmth between himself and President George W Bush.

Former British prime minister Tony Blair and Columbia's president Alvaro Uribe will also receive medals in the ceremony.

Mr Bush has awarded 78 of the medals during his two terms as US president.

Bush is conferring the prestigious award on his friends in an East Room ceremony on January 13 - exactly one week before he leaves office, White House press secretary Dana Perino said on Monday.

"The president is honouring these leaders for their work to improve the lives of their citizens and for their efforts to promote democracy, human rights and peace abroad," she said. "All three leaders have been staunch allies of the United States, particularly in combating terrorism."

The Medal of Freedom was established by President Harry Truman in 1945 to recognise civilians for their efforts during World War II.

The award was reinstated by President John F Kennedy in 1963 to honour distinguished service. It is given to those deemed to have made remarkable contributions to the security or national interests of the United States, world peace, culture, or other private or public endeavours.

Prior to these three leaders, Bush has awarded 78 medals during his tenure in office.

Among the most controversial came in December 2004, when Bush gave the Presidential Medal of Freedom to former CIA Director George Tenet, former Iraq administrator L Paul Bremer and retired General Tommy Franks, three people central to his early policy in
Iraq.
Bush was especially criticised for including on the list Tenet, who came under fire for intelligence failures leading up to the September 11, 2001, attacks and the Iraq war

Lawyer,Mohammed Masri 's "12 year old boy "client pleads not guilty to Jambaroo Action Park sex assault charges.

Boy, 12, on sex assault charge at Jamberoo Action Park

DRESSED smartly, this 12-year-old strode from the courthouse yesterday having pleaded not guilty to the sexual assault of a girl aged just 15 years.

After first covering his head with a piece of paper, the boy confidently revealed his face - and smirked for the camera.
The youth, who can not be identified, faces one charge of aggravated sexual assault after an incident during a school excursion last month.

"Middle Eastern" aka. "The Usual suspects" charged with Rape at Sydney theme park.

Police allege the youth used his hand to assault the 15-year-old high school student from the Illawarra area in a swimming pool at Jamberoo Action Park.
A second youth, aged 15, has also been charged with aggravated sexual assault after allegedly attacking the same girl.

The older youth also faces one aggravated indecent assault charge against a second girl whose backside he allegedly "groped . . . under her costume".
Yesterday, both boys pleaded not guilty to the charges at Port Kembla Children's Court.

They sat silently in the court, dressed in business shirts and pants and supported by their fathers.
The 12-year-old boy's lawyer, Mohammed Masri, told the court his client would need to have his bail conditions changed before returning to school. "My client will be recommencing the school year in February, so I'm instructed to ask to have his reporting conditions changed," he said.
Children's Magistrate Graham Blewitt ordered the youths to report to police every Monday.

Manager of the NSW Rape Crisis Centre, Karen Willis, said yesterday that juvenile victims of sexual assault suffered similar trauma to adult victims.
"Trauma is trauma - it really doesn't matter what the age is," she told The Daily Telegraph.

"Sexual assault always has an impact, with victims experiencing fear, anger or a form of hypertension.
"There are always special circumstances but it doesn't matter if you are young or old. "We all experience trauma in much the same way." Police arrested the pair after stopping their school bus at Mount Ousley as it returned from Jamberoo.

The boys, both of Middle Eastern descent, are students at a high school in Sydney's west.
Police arrested three other youths on the bus, but they were released without charge.

Ms Willis said most sex offenders began their crimes between the ages of 15 and 17 years.
She added that victims of sexual assault could recover from trauma with the right support from family and solid counselling. "It's not a death sentence - recovery can, and does, happen," she said. "But we should never underestimate the impact of sexual assault." Mr Blewitt adjourned the matter to the same court on February 16.
