Patrick Kennedy snubbed over abortion rights

THE nephew of former president John F. Kennedy has been barred from receiving communion at his Catholic church due to his support for abortion rights, according to a newspaper report.
US Representative Patrick Kennedy, son of the late senator Edward Kennedy, was told of the move by Roman Catholic Bishop Thomas Tobin, according to The Providence Journal newspaper in the US state of Rhode Island.
Mr Kennedy represents a district in Rhode Island in the US Congress.
"The bishop instructed me not to take communion and said that he has instructed the diocesan priests not to give me communion," the paper quotes him as saying.
Mr Kennedy said the bishop had explained the penalty by telling him that he was not a good practising Catholic because of the positions that he had taken as a public official, particularly on abortion, the report said.
The congressman declined to say when or how Bishop Tobin told him not to take the sacrament or whether he had obeyed the bishop's injunction, the report said.
Bishop Tobin, through a spokesman, declined to address the question of whether he had told Mr Kennedy not to receive communion, the Journal said.
But the bishop's office moved quickly to cast doubt on Mr Kennedy's related assertion about instructions to priests in Rhode Island.
"Bishop Tobin has never addressed matters relative to public officials receiving holy communion with pastors of the diocese," the paper quoted the bishop's spokesman as saying.
Communion is a church ritual that involves the sharing of bread and wine meant to represent the body and blood of Jesus Christ. John F. Kennedy was the first Catholic president of the US.
Finally, a Catholic Bishop with the balls to practice what his Religion preaches, full marks to Bishop Tobin, however I am sure he and the Catholic Church in the United States of America have a very limited future given the Religious and Ideological preferences of the Hussein Obama regime.

He can CHOOSE without having to consider weather or not he will be decapitated or not, there is NO earthly penalty for rejecting Christianity or Judaism unlike the consequences of offending or disobeying the “Religion of Peace” aka. ISLAM, his Democrat Party and Presidents “Religion” of Choice, there will be no organized gangs of Catholic Priests and Catholic Nuns conspiring to behead him and his family members, no Priests or Nuns with explosives strapped to their bodies and igniting same in public places so as to slaughter men women and children as a demonstration the Popes displeasure at Kennedy’s refusal to follow the teachings of the Catholic Church.
No, Kennedy can simply just go about standing for and living and doing his best to ensure that the values of the Catholic Church are not allowed to impinge upon the objectives of his Democrat Party, just like his Uncle Ted did so well for so many years, right up till he died a few months ago, BTW go Ted how’s it going?
