Four men charged over alleged Australia Day rape

Four men have been charged over the alleged rape of another man in Brisbane’s north on Australia Day.
They allegedly assaulted the 19-year-old man with a beer bottle after he passed out at a party in Kedron, the Brisbane Times reported.
It was only reported after the victim discovered a recording of the alleged assault that had been uploaded to Facebook, according to the newspaper.
Police have today charged four men, aged 19 to 21, with rape.
One of them was additionally charged with one count of distributing prohibited visual recordings, and another with observations in breach of privacy and three counts of distributing prohibited visual recordings.
Police investigations are ongoing, and the matters are expected to be heard in court from October 23.
