Radical Islamic speaker who condones child rape one of 12 men booked for United Muslims Of Australia Quest For Success conference

A RADICAL Islamic speaker from the UK who condoned child rape on a previous visit to Australia is returning to spout more of his foul bile at a Muslim youth and community conference at Sydney Olympic Park.
Hamza Tzortzis, who has said publicly that anyone who fights against Muslims should be beheaded, is one of 12 international and local speakers — all of them men — booked for the ominously named United Muslims of Australia Quest for Success conference.
The event will be held in May in Homebush, which falls into the electorate of federal MP Craig Laundy, who will be sworn in as Assistant Minister for Multicultural Affairs tomorrow.
When The Daily Telegraph called Mr Laundy yesterday to inform him of the conference line-up, he said: “Hate speech has no place in our society and I utterly condemn in the strongest terms the views of anyone preaching hate and intolerance.”
Other speakers include a Hamas-supporting British preacher called Sheikh Zahir Mahmood and a Canadian called Sheikh Alaa Elsayed, who believes having two wives is good because, he says, they will fight for your attention.
Among the Australian speakers are Zachariah Matthews, who has called for elements of sharia law to be introduced into Australia’s legal system, and Sheikh Abu Hamza, who has argued that it is OK to hit your wife — just not too hard.
Also on the list of Aussie speakers is Sheikh Shady Alsuleiman, whose Sydney organisation hosted a speech by an al-Qaeda recruiter who was later killed in a drone attack in Yemen.
Ironically, Mr Tzortzis, who is known for his strong moral views, appeared on hacked data from the Ashley Madison dating website, although he has said repeatedly he was hacked.
John Perkins, the president of the Secular Party, debated Mr Tzortzis when he was in Australia in 2013.
“I put it to him that the Koran condones child marriage, (and) he defended it.
“He was defending child rape. I was absolutely appalled,” Mr Perkins said.
Despite Mr Tzortzis’s offensive views, Mr Perkins believes the conference should be permitted.
“It is better that views are exposed to the public because their own words condemn them more than any attack ever could,” he said.
The event has also angered women because of the lack of female speakers. Activist Eva Cox said: “It is impossible to imagine a conference about success that excludes women.”
A spokesman from the Department of Immigration said Mr Tzortzis had not yet applied for a visa.
“There are strong provisions under the Migration Act to refuse or cancel a visa if a person is found not to be of good character,” he said.
United Muslims of Australia did not provide a comment.
This is what a Muslim conference wants to teach Aussie kids.

"The chief weapon in the quiver of all Islamist expansionist movements, is the absolute necessity to keep victims largely unaware of the actual theology plotting their demise. To complete this deception, a large body of ‘moderates’ continue to spew such ridiculous claims as “Islam means Peace” thereby keeping non-Muslims from actually reading the Qur’an, the Sira, the Hadith, or actually looking into the past 1400 years of history. Islamists also deny or dismiss the concept of ‘abrogation’, which is the universal intra-Islamic method of replacing slightly more tolerable aspects of the religion in favor of more violent demands for Muslims to slay and subdue infidels"

Multicultural Sydney: Auburn genital mutilation: Guilty women, sheik fail to show remorse or speak out says judge
Auburn genital mutilation: Guilty women, sheik fail to show remorse or speak out says judge
SARAH CRAWFORD
The Daily Telegraph
February 5 2016
A SUPREME Court Justice has questioned the remorse of two women convicted of female genital mutilation, saying they have not said if they now reject the practice or will speak out against the procedure which is a tradition in their small Muslim sect.
A midwife, Kubra Magennis, 72, and a 39-year-old mother of four girls (known as A2 during the court proceedings) were convicted by a jury of mutilating the clitorises of the younger woman’s two eldest daughters in November last year, becoming the first people in Australia to be successfully prosecuted for female genital mutilation.
They face a maximum penalty of seven years jail.
At the sentencing hearing Justice Johnson criticised a psychological report tendered by A2 and Vaziri’s defence barrister Robert Sutherland SC saying it focused on the mother and not the impact of the crime she committed against her daughters.
“It is largely a report on what the impact on the family is if the mother goes to jail, no one has asked her (the eldest daughter) as a victim of crime what her attitude is towards the crime.”
Crown Prosecutor Nannette Williams asked that a suppression order on the name of the midwife, initially only known as KM, be lifted which was opposed by her defence barrister Stuart Bouveng on the ground the “frail” woman’s safety was at risk.
The judge later lifted the suppression order, allowing the midwife’s name to be publicised.
Magennis and her husband tendered affidavits that they had been harassed and received threatening phone calls over the past three years.
The religious leader of their Shia Muslim sect, Dawoodi Bohra, Sheik Shabbir Mohammedbhai Vaziri, was found guilty of being an accessory after the fact to the procedure.
At a sentencing hearing today, Justice Peter Johnson raised concerns that the three accused had not rejected the practise of female genital mutilation called “khatna,” which is traditionally performed on seven-year-old girls.
“I am not sure that I have seen any of these accused saying they reject all practises of that sort … and they do take action in the Dawoodi Bohra community to speak out against that,” Justice Johnson said
During the eight-and-a-half week trial the jury heard A2 had arranged for Magennis to perform the procedure called “khatna” on her daughters on two different occasions in Wollongong and Baulkham Hills in Sydney’s north west between October 2009 and August 2012.
The injuries consisted of a nick or cut to the girls’ clitorises.
When police began investigating the practice Vaziri told community members to tell detectives that they did not practise female genital mutilation.
The tiny Auburn-based sect came to police attention in 2012 after they received a tip-off from a reformist Dawoodi Bohra member that the orthodox followers practised female genital mutilation.
The hearing continues.

Muslim Sleeper and supporters emboldened by Turnbull coup d'état start spruiking on social media what they REALLY think about Islamic TerrorismMuslim RAN Captain Mona Shindy broadsided after terror tweet row
The Daily Telegraph

Navy’s trailblazing Muslim captain
A SENIOR female Muslim navy officer has had her twitter account shut down after it posted tweets on Islamic terrorism that appear at odds with government policy.
Captain Mona Shindy, the Chief of Navy’s strategic adviser on Islamic affairs, was believed to run the account @navyislamic which retweeted a counter-terrorism expert mocking Tony Abbott after the leadership coup.
The social media account had also backed Grand Mufti Ibrahim Abu Mohamed’s controversial response to the Paris terrorist attacks, tweeting the hashtag #IStandWithTheMufti.
Captain Shindy, who won the Telstra NSW Businesswoman of the Year last year, had also called for the word “Islam” to be removed from reporting on Islamic state in a policy talk.
Her twitter account, which described itself as the “Official Royal Australian Navy Islamic Advisor Twitter account”, vanished shortly before Christmas following complaints.
Captain Shindy had retweeted counter-terrorism expert Anne Aly, who had tweeted on the night of the leadership change: “Wait. Did our new PM just give a speech and not mention boats, death cult, security, death cult, terrorism, national security and death cult?”
Inside the mind of Anne Aly, Moderate Muslim.
Captain Shindy has stated it was her aim to encourage more Muslims to join the defence force, as about 100 of the 45000 defence force personnel identify as Muslim, 27 of them in the Navy.
But a row erupted when she used the account to enter the political fray, and attacked a new Queensland-based political party called the Australian Liberty Alliance, launched by Dutch politician Geert Wilders.
“Real shame to see these extreme ill informed fringe groups threatening #community #cohesion. #auspol #teamhumanrace” the tweet from October 22 stated.
A Defence Department spokesman told The Australian newspaper: “Navy has consolidated its social media platforms to achieve a ‘single source’ so as to strengthen its messaging in synch with its support to traditional media.”
Captain Shindy has worked for the navy for 26 years and is the head of its Guided Missile Frigate Program.
Defence policy usually bans political statements from defence personnel in their official capacity.
In a talk to the Royal United Services Institute of NSW in March last year, Captain Shindy accused the media of “fearmongering”, stating there was no connection between the terror group and religion.
She also raised the issue of a “double standard” over the issue of the occupied territories of Israel, comparing with the world’s “willingness to take prompt and decisive action against other nations such as Iraq”.
“The extremist behaviour of groups purporting to be Muslims has been overplayed by the media for years constantly linking terrorist behaviours to Islam, e.g. use of the description ‘Islamist’, rather than separatist or militant,” she said.
“It is also important that, in the public rhetoric, terrorism and Islam are de-linked. “Constant negative media reporting on apparent Muslim behaviour provides ammunition for terrorist recruiters enabling them to convince impressionable Muslims that there is an agenda against them and their religion — again, supporting a call for armed jihad.
“Indeed, the word ‘Islam’ needs to be removed from reporting on ISIS/ISIL or Daesh. “The barbaric nature and ideology of these groups has nothing to do with Islam and we should work to limit their appeal to vulnerable Muslims, preventing the use and advertising of ‘Islam’ in their name.”

Islam Down Under, Farhad Jabar Khalil Mohammad buried on Australian Soil.
Teen terrorist Farhad Jabar’s body buried in Rookwood Cemetery
EXCLUSIVE Laura Banks
The Daily Telegraph
October 19 2015.
TEEN terrorist Farhad Jabar’s body has been quietly buried in Rookwood Cemetery, near the grave of a shot gang associate and the beloved wife of a famous Sydney boxer.
A galvanised steel marker bears a white sticker with bold black writing; “Mr Farhad Jabar Khalil Mohammad”. It states the date of his death and his age.
Jabar was killed on October 2 by a special constable who bravely stepped into the line of fire as the teenager yelled “Allahu Akbar” after he had shot dead police accountant Curtis Cheng in Parramatta.
The 15-year-old’s grave lies just metres from notorious Brothers 4 Life associate Mahmoud Hamzy, 25, and the wife of champion Australian boxer Billy Dib, Sara Selim Dib, 21, who died tragically from complications of chemotherapy last month.
The Daily Telegraph understands that Jabar was buried last Saturday.
A palm frond sits atop the freshly disturbed clay in an Islamic tradition.
The teenager’s body was held for six days and buried as soon as possible in line with Islamic tradition.
It is believed Jabar’s parents wanted the teen’s body buried in their Kurdish homeland but brother Farshard wanted the boy’s remains buried in Australia.
FARHAD’S SUPPORTERS PRAISE HIS ACTIONS
ASKED FOR HIS FAVOURITE MEAL, THEN TRAGEDY
GUARD OF HONOUR FOR CURTIS CHENG FUNERAL
A mourner — whose father is buried just metres from Jabar at Rookwood — told The Daily Telegraph he “had some concerns about him (Jabar) being buried there”.
“I don’t know who is going to come here now and I have my son come here with me,” he said.
“I am Muslim but what he (Jabar) did was not right and I want our government to do more to stop this from happening again.
“Surely they can bug the mosques and have better intelligence.”
Jabar was farewelled and interred among devout followers of the Muslim faith, in stark contrast to the treatment of Lindt siege gunman Man Haron Monis.
The Muslim community washed their hands of Monis and he was buried in an undisclosed location.
Monis — who died along with two of his hostages in a shootout with police at the Lindt cafe in Sydney’s Martin Place in December — was buried by gravediggers in an undisclosed NSW location in January.
Those involved in the state burial were required to sign a confidentiality agreement.
Islamic leaders publicly denounced Monis’s actions and said he was so despised in the community that funeral directors refused to handle his body.
The location of his grave remains a mystery.

Pious Muslim Neil Prakash goes back down the sewer
Australian Islamic State recruiter Neil Prakash goes offline to avoid being tracked on social media
Armando Cordoba, James Dowling
Herald Sun
October 19 2015.
AUSTRALIA’S most senior terrorist has gone into hiding for fear coalition bombers will be able to track him down using his Twitter feed.
Noted Islamic State propagandist Neil Prakash has shut down his social media sites and stopped replying to online messages from supporters.
For months, the former Melbourne jihadi had urged others to carry out attacks in Western countries and boasted he could help Westerners wanting to join him in Syria.
It is believed he has gone into cyber silence for fear authorities may be able to track his location through his internet use. Prakash is reportedly on a US kill list.
He was involved in an alleged plot to behead police officers on Anzac Day in Melbourne.
But in a text conversation obtained by the Herald Sun, a fellow jihadi said senior IS figures had urged him to drop his online profile.
Abu Khalid al-Amriki, a jihadi from the US, said Prakash had been banned from using the internet.
Last month, Al-Amriki, who is believed to have since been killed in combat, said Prakash was ordered offline after three of the Melbourne man’s closest friends were killed by coalition bombs.
Deadly UK strikes took out Reyaad Khan and fellow jihadi Ruhul Amin in September.
And British hacker Junaid Hussain was killed by a US bomb last month.
One of Prakash’s last tweets claimed he did not fear death and goaded the US to send him a “paradise missile”.
Prakash and other Western fighters were once the main source of propaganda.
They had been vocal in urging others to join IS or carry out attacks in Western countries.
While Prakash has fallen silent, the wife of slain Melbourne jihadist Suhan Rahman is trying to recruit Australian women to join the IS terror group.
Umm Jihad, who is an American named Hoda, revealed she had been actively trying to groom young women to travel to Syria to become jihadi brides.
In an encrypted text conversation — seen by the Herald Sun — the jihadi recruiter trained a potential recruit on how to get to Syria.
“Are you prepared with everything? Passport, Luggage and Money?,” the American recruiter asked the girl.
Umm Jihad told the wannabe jihadi to take measures to protect herself as the American’s phone was “prob tapped”.
“It’s best not to text me until u r legit preparing encase u need help.”
In March, a woman claiming to be Suhan Rahman’s wife said that Abu Jihadi al Australi, Rahman’s combat name, was killed in a clash in Syria.

Just after 3pm two unmarked police vehicles swerved in front of a silver hatchback and at least six officers in tactical operations gear swarmed on the car.
The P-plate driver and his girlfriend were removed from the vehicle and searched by the heavily armed officers.
Newtown local Craig Warren witnessed the raid as it unfolded.
“The police came out of nowhere,” he said.
“They surrounded a car and dragged the driver out of the car and held a rifle to him.
“Two more men were also removed from the car and a woman wearing a burka. They put them on the ground and cuffed them.”
He said the three occupants were taken away for questioning. Their car was towed minutes later.
According to eyewitnesses the operation was swift and the driver was arrested.
“It literally looked out of a movie,” local shop assistant Kate O’Rourke said.
Her colleague said the man complained of heart problems and as a result the paramedics were called.
“They pinned him to the ground and then against the wall outside. He didn’t put up a fight,” Alicia Rose said.
Ms O’Rourke said the man shouted “Don’t touch my girlfriend! Leave her out of this!” as he was pinned to the ground.
NSW Police confirmed the Middle Eastern Crime Squad conducted the raid as part of an ongoing police investigation into extortion.
According to a police spokesman the investigation has also triggered raids across south-west Sydney, with more underway in Bankstown, Greenacre, Punchbowl and Condell Park.
Officers made inquiries on Tennyson Rd, Greenacre, and a raid occurred on Rosemont St, Punchbowl.
It is understood the second arrest happened at Hume Highway, Yagoona.
The operation was not related to counter terrorism or the Parramatta shooting incident two weeks ago.

Sydney Muslims out raged at NSW Police plain clothed Anti Terror Squad.
Sydney terror: Police approach to young Muslims prompts criticism
Taylor Auerbach
EXCLUSIVEThe Daily Telegraph
October 16, 2015
THE state’s police force has assembled a plain-clothed terror squad that is taking to the streets and asking youths if they have been “approached” about Islam in an attempt to cut off recruitment.
The move, while praised by many, has prompted some to compare the tactics to those of the Gestapo – the secret police force of Hitler’s Nazi regime.
The Daily Telegraph can confirm the plain-clothed NSW Police officers are targeting areas in western Sydney where they believe terrorist recruiters are preying on vulnerable young Australians.
The unprecedented attempts to cut off radicalisation at its source have outraged some members of the Muslim community.
A video captured by a young Muslim man as he was approached by police has surfaced online and is being distributed by radical Islamic political party Hizb ut-Tahrir, a group which believes in sharia law and wants a global caliphate.
It shows two plain clothed officers – one male, one female – talking to a group of youths in Bankstown.
After asking the group to stop recording them, the male police officer asks if they have been “approached” about Islam recently.
“The reason why we’re walking around Bankstown today is to speak to the young blokes in Bankstown and see if they’re being approached by anyone in relation to Islam and stuff like that,” the officer can be heard saying.
In a statement, NSW Police said: “Community engagement is one tool we are using in the fight against radicalisation. It is crucial we identify and speak to those people at greatest risk of being targeted by those with extremist views.”
“Rather than just approaching people and expecting co-operation, the police need to work a lot harder at getting people on side.”
Muslim community leader and anti-radicalisation campaigner Jamal Daoud said he was pleased to see police making themselves visible but criticised the style of questioning in the video.
“Any activity from the police is OK but this is some kind of joke,” Mr Daoud said.
“Why are you asking about Islam? You need to ask about radical Islam or extremism or ISIS…to ask someone about Islam is stupid.”
Mr Daoud said brainwashing and terrorism recruitment was happening behind the closed doors of mosques, religious centres and book stores but added there was also a problem in public with groups like the street Dawah movement.
The NSW Police strategy has led to fervent debate on social media.
Parramatta man Michael Robert drew parallels between the religious questioning and the methods of the Hitler’s notorious secret police.
“Sorry, I don’t talk to the Gestapo,” he wrote.
Arsalaan Khan said: “I think what the police is doing is to safeguard the residents of Sydney and we should all co-operate with them.”
The video also drew harsh criticism from NSW Senator David Leyonhjelm, who was sent the footage by The Daily Telegraph.
“I don’t blame the young people for not co-operating with police. If I were in their place, I would probably have given them some lip,” he said.
“Rather than just approaching people and expecting co-operation, the police need to work a lot harder at getting people on side.
“Our police need to study up on Peel’s Principles, which state that the ability of the police to perform their duties is dependent on public approval of police actions. Unfortunately, many young people feel they have been harassed in some way by police.
“A lot more work needs to be done by the police to create a culture of respect.
“My concern is that every second week the police seem to be convincing politicians to come up with bad laws to cover up for these kinds of failures.”

Pious Muslim Salim Mehajer and Bow Wow
Mehajer mansion the unreal setting for rapper Bow Wow’s video for Too Real

Salim Mehajer speaks out
US rap artist Bow Wow has released his latest single, the video clip for which was shot at the mansion of Auburn council’s deputy mayor Salim Mehajer.
Too Real, a collaboration with Australian hip hop and RnBass producer DJ Willi, features the marble staircase of Mehajer’s mansion, adorned with curvy women.
Its glass balustrade resembles the glamour-type staircases that might be found at The Star casino, complete with interior lighting in each marble stair riser.
Mehajer’s white Ferrari also features prominently in the clip and is driven by Bow Wow, otherwise known as Shad Gregory Moss, 28, around the Opera House. It was the car, say sources, that brought Mehajer and Bow Wow into contact after the DJ’s entourage started making inquiries about the hire of an “exotic car” for the video.
“We wanted to get an exotic car into the video and he (Mehajer) offered and asked if we wanted to come to the house and use it for the clip too,” DJ Willi has confirmed.
Bow Wow has said — rap style — the idea of making Too Real and shooting its clip in Sydney came during his fourth trip to “Aussie” and went something like this:
“I was doing a lot of partying, a lot of clubs, a lot of crazy nights over here in Australia and one night Crazy Willi had the studio and the deck and played a couple of beats and sh** ... and I was like Damn! I could do something to these …
“He took me to the studio and next thing you know we had a hit and it was like Damn Dog! before I leave, like my last night, let’s just shoot a video you know. Let’s knock it out because like I’m gonna go back to shooting CSI. So I ain’t really had no time to shoot no videos or no shit like that.
“All it takes is one call, that’s it. We ain’t stalling for nothing. One call, my man Willi. I need to shoot this video, my man made it happen.”
Happy with the result, which includes crowd shots of gorgeous, exotic-looking Sydney women, though not, apparently, the new Mrs Mehajer, Wow crowed: “All my fans are gonna love this sh*t.”

Islamic Terrorism Raids at Sydney's Occupied Territories suspects homes raided.
Five men arrested in terror raids following Parramatta shooting attack

ALL of the homes raided by counter-terrorism officers today were also targeted during last September’s Operation Appleby, which was launched to investigate the plot to behead a member of the public in Sydney.
Five people were arrested at dawn in four separate raids in Sydney’s suburbs, including a 16-year-old schoolmate of Farhad Jabar, the teen terrorist who murdered police worker Curtis Cheng on Friday.
More than 200 armed officers stormed four homes in Bursill St, Guildford; Lane St, Wentworthville; Lockwood Street, Merrylands; and Booth Street, Marsfield, at 6am.
It is believed at least one of the men picked up is an associate of terror suspect Omarjan Azari who was arrested during Operation Appleby.
At a lunchtime press conference, Deputy Commissioner Catherine Burn confirmed all of the addresses targeted were the same as last year but denied police had taken their eye off the ball.
“We know some of the people we are now interested in are people that have come under notice previously in relation to Operation Appleby,” she said.
But it was a ‘sad reality’ that police couldn’t be everywhere at all time.
Today’s raids were a direct result of Friday’s murder out the front of police headquarters and had not been in the planning before the terror attack.
“This is a clear indication of our determination to actually find out who murdered Curtis Cheng and to take all necessary action that we possibly can,” she said.
“It’s a very, very serious concern that in the heart of our community there is attack planning that is under way and that may have led to what we saw on Friday.”
Cheng, a 58-year-old father of two, was shot dead at 4.30pm as he left Parramatta police HQ with a single bullet from a .38 Smith and Wesson that Jabar is now believed to have been given at the local mosque.
Federal police have thwarted a number of terror attacks across the country since September last year, AFP Acting Deputy Commissioner Neil Gaughan said.
“We have disrupted six attacks (and) we have a large number of persons of interest across the country and we have a large number of persons on the periphery of those investigations that we clearly cannot monitor 24/7,” he said.
“This is not just an issue for the NSW police and Australian Federal Police. This is an issue for every law enforcement agency in this country as well as all our intelligence communities.”
Ms Burn confirmed the teen gunman had not been in the sights of NSW Police ahead of the attack but said they were confident he had not acted alone.
“The 15-year-old deceased has not been a target of ours and is not somebody we would have assessed as a threat,” she said.
She refused to speculate on his motives.
The five people arrested today were located in:
* Wentworthville - Two brothers aged 16 and 18.
* Merrylands - Two men aged 22 and 24, one on an unrelated fraud charge.
* Marsfield - One 22-year-old man.
Karen Smith, 57, in Wentworthville, said she woke to the yells of counter terrorism officers at 5am.
“They were yelling — ‘there’s a warrant, don’t move, everyone get out, don’t resist’,” she said.
“They were taking people out one by one.”
She said of her neighbours: “I’ve never had any problem with them at all, the boys are always polite. I think it’s a real shame that the world has come to this.”
In Marsfield, Derek Archer, 52, lives opposite the house which was raided and woke up to the noise of the police raid.
“I just woke up to some large shouting similar to 12 months ago, just ‘get down, get down’,” he said.
“We didn’t open the door this time or anything like that, just had a look out the window.”
In Merrylands, a woman dressed in a pink chador lashed out at the media before entering the house raided by officers.
Later, eggs were thrown at reporters standing outside.
In Guildford, counter-terrorism detectives removed a number of large bags of evidence from the family home of terror suspect Azari.

Australian jihadists in macabre threat to soldiers

Australia's most notorious jihadists fighting in Iraq have issued a macabre threat to Australian soldiers as their ranks were bolstered by a Melbourne-born preacher who has joined their new ''caliphate''.
Underscoring the deep concern the Abbott government has expressed in recent weeks about Australians involved with extremist groups, two prominent jihadists fighting with the al-Qaeda splinter group the Islamic State took to Twitter to issue fresh threats.
Mohamed Elomar, a former boxer from Sydney who has been implicated in executions of unarmed Iraqis, posted on the social media site a distressing picture of what appears to be a captured Iraqi soldier who has been beaten and is about to be executed.
The accompanying message states: ''Look at the end of these Iraqi maliki dogs bunch ofgirls can't wait to see a Australian soldier cyring (sic) saying bakia.''
''Bakia'' means ''he cries'' in Arabic and ''maliki'' refers to the Shiite-led Iraqi government of Nouri al-Maliki, the fervent enemy of the Sunni extremists who have
swept through northern Iraq in recent weeks.
Australian terrorist Khaled Sharrouf, who appeared in Facebook images recently brandishing a gun over executed Iraqis, replied on Twitter: ''Allah … says 'kill them where ever you find them' … terrorise the enemies of Allah.''
Both Elomar and Sharrouf are known to be in Iraq with the ultra-violent group the Islamic State (IS), formerly the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. The group changed its name recently after declaring a caliphate, or global Muslim state, in the territory it has captured spanning Syria and Iraq.
Sharrouf was convicted over the 2005 Pendennis terrorism plot and jailed for nearly four years before slipping out of Australia in December on his brother's passport to join the fighting in Syria.
He and Elomar are believed to have crossed the border in recent weeks with IS fighters as the group surged across northern Iraq seizing major towns and cities.
A small force of Australian troops, including elite members of the SAS, travelled to Baghdad just over a fortnight ago to help secure the Australian embassy, though it is regarded as unlikely that IS fighters could reach the Iraqi capital. The Abbott government has ruled out sending troops into combat in the country.
Meanwhile Melbourne-born extremist preacher Musa Cerantonio declared on Twitter that he had reached the ISIL-controlled territory in Syria and Iraq, reflecting the potentially dangerous gravitational effect of the group's caliphate declaration.
''Al-Hamdulillah [Thanks to God] I have arrived in the land of Khilafah [caliphate] in Ash-Sham [the Levant]!'' he wrote on Twitter.
Sharrouf replied: ''Alhumdulihe [Thanks to God] on your arrival see u soon akhi [brother].''
The case of Cerantonio is particularly troubling because of his status as a top cheerleader for IS with a massive online following. A recent report by the International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation and Political Violence at King's College, London, described him as one of the three most influential preachers online.
He appears to have slipped out of the Philippines where he was in hiding in recent months. His arrival in the Middle East is a blow to Australian authorities who were reportedly making moves to extradite him from the Philippines.
Andrew Zammit, a researcher with Monash University's Global Terrorism Research Centre, said the fact there had been six plots in Europe by returnees from Syria reflected the significant threat level of Westerners fighting in the region. ''Most of the fighters will likely confine their violence to the region, but the prospect that some will return and carry out violence at home is real,'' he said.
Mr Zammit said Cerantonio had previously hedged his bets between key jihadist groups but now appeared to have ''gone all in'' with his support for IS and its new caliphate.
IS is in a power struggle with the old al-Qaeda of Osama bin Laden as well as with another al-Qaeda splinter group, Jabhat al-Nusra. Some experts have said this increases the danger because of the risk one group will try to establish its supremacy over the others by carrying out a major attack on the West.
Sydney Muslim community advocate Dr Jamal Rifi said he was anticipating such an escalation in Australians' participation in the Iraqi conflict and it was dominating nightly discussions on western Sydney streets during Ramadan.
''The community is not happy at all,'' he said. ''These men had already made up their minds and they were never going to come back to Australia. They think they are taking the high moral ground above everyone else back home,'' he said. ''It's a sentiment that we don't agree with at all.''
