SEVEN teenage girls have been allegedly sexually assaulted at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre yesterday.

AN ASYLUM seeker has been charged for allegedly sexually assaulting seven teenage girls at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre yesterday.

Mohammad Salem Nazari, 33, who has only been in Australia for six months on a bridging visa, is accused of indecently assaulting the girls, aged 14 to 18, in the rapids section of the centre between 4pm and 4.30pm.

Police said the girls reported the incident to pool security and after officers reviewed CCTV footage Nazari was arrested and taken to Auburn Police Station.

Nazari, who was living in Parramatta, has been charged with five counts of indecent assault of a person under 16 years of age and two counts of assault with an act of indecency.

His legal aid lawyer told Burwood Local Court his client spoke no English and required a Dari interpreter. Dari is a Persian language spoken in Iran and Afghanistan.

Nazari was refused bail to reappear on Wednesday.

Under the Coalition government asylum seekers on bridging visas facing criminal charges immediately have their visas revoked and placed in detention.

Abbott Government in crime crackdown on asylum seekers

Immigration Minister Scott Morrison's office confirmed Nazari's visa had been cancelled and court papers said he was the "subject of an immigration hold" should he be granted bail.

Mr Morrison's spokesman said "since the election 31 illegal boat arrivals on bridging visas who were charged with criminal offences have had their bridging visas cancelled".

Immigration staff interviewed Nazari today while he was in custody.

Australian Immigration Minister Scott Morrison has ordered that should this man be granted bail that he be immediately be taken into custody by the Australian Immigration Department.

IT IS getting harder to cop moral lectures. I mean, have our moral "betters" ever been this savage?

For instance, once you might have thought a "human rights" lawyer just wanted people to be nicer to each other. But then comes Julian Burnside, the best-known of them, urging children to spit on Immigration Minister Scott Morrison.

Tweeted Burnside: "I hope little children stop him in the street and spit on his shoes."

I note Burnside refuses to set the children an example. He neither urges them to act in a civil way, nor takes the lead in spitting on a government minister.

He lacks conviction or lacks guts, urging children to do what he dares not.

How often it turns out that the greatest demands for tolerance come from the intolerant.

Take Dan Savage, a gay activist on the ABC's Q&A on Monday who demands more tolerance for gays, but showed little himself.

"You are full of s---," he told one panellist and heckled: "I give a wicked blow job."

Asked to nominate a "dangerous idea ... to change the world for the better", he suggested "abortion should be mandatory for about 30 years".

Same twist with The Age. It denounced signs calling Labor Prime Minister Julia Gillard a "witch", but when former 

Conservative Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher died ran a big picture on its website of a sign jeering, "The bitch is dead".

The Age has even now promoted T-shirts printed by one of its columnists with the slogan "F--- Abbott."

You see, with tribalists it's not the principle that counts, but the side.

I can understand such abuse from desperate attention seekers. When Catherine Deveny, an ABC favourite, tweeted that she hoped her former Age editor developed "a-----e cancer" I knew she needed to sell tickets to her shows.

But we pay the ABC more than $1 billion, so it could set the moral standard, not trawl the meanest streets for cheap tricks.

Yet we've seen ABC TV even show a picture of a conservative critic doctored to make him look as if he was having sex with a dog.

The journalists' union is no better. To present the finalists of its Walkley Awards, allegedly to honour the noblest journalism, it hired two presenters who had tweeted about Abbott performing sex acts, including with an animal.

The crude rule. And it's not OK.

We stop the circus to stop the boats

IN just over five weeks of Operation Sovereign Borders, fewer than 600 people have turned up on 10 boats. Under the previous government this would occur in just five days. There has been a difference from day one. The current rate of arrivals represents an immediate 70 per cent decline, but we are not claiming anything at this stage and there is still a long way to go.

We will continue to apply maximum pressure to confront the inevitable surge from people smugglers in the weeks ahead, especially leading into the monsoon season.

Stopping the boats is a battle, and no one measure is enough to defeat the criminal people smugglers who have had the upper hand for the past five years.

This battle is being fought using the full arsenal of measures as part of a whole-of-government operation, led by Lieutenant General Angus Campbell. This new approach has had its critics. Chief among their concerns is not the results, but our language and how information is released to the media.

The position we have taken on removing operationally sensitive information from public dissemination was flagged before the election and is a function of running a military-led border security operation. It is not business as usual, and that is the point.

Such a policy is not uncommon for these types of operations, as our military commander has pointed out. When we first announced Operation Sovereign Borders, many critics scoffed at our decision to cast operations in this military-led context, but clearly failed to appreciate the implications of such an approach.

We are simply following through with what we promised we would do.

We are not going to reveal the posture of our border protection assets at sea, by revealing the time, place and intercepting vessel as the previous government did. Nor are we going to run a shipping news service for smugglers to use government information as proof of voyages for payment or to provide intelligence reports on client nationalities.

Within the detention network we are not going to publicise individual self-harm incidents. Such publicity only provides an incentive for this behaviour. Nor are we going to provide open access to centres for media as not only does this raise false hopes among detainees who believe media coverage of their plight will change the outcome of their case, but also can encourage non-compliant behaviour within the centres that can make a difficult job even harder for those who work there.

Access to centres for relevant independent agencies will continue as it did under the previous government to ensure transparency of operations.

We are also not going to give credibility to unsubstantiated claims constantly put up by advocacy groups through the media to undermine the government's tough policy position.

If serious and substantiated allegations are raised then we will deal with them.

I think this peace loving pricks (above) aspirations for Gang Rape of "Aussie Pigs and Sluts" aka. Australian women, girls and children with his fellow Labor Green Loon facilitated 'Asylum Seekers" are now all but over, following the sealing of Australia's borders by the Conservative Abbott Liberal Government. 

The suggestion we are not fronting the media is also false. The schedule of regular press conferences is more frequent than anything conducted by any of my Labor predecessors in the role. Every illegal boat arrival has been and will be reported and specific events have been addressed both at the weekly media conferences and separate statements where they have been warranted.

Finally, our language calls it as we see it. We are not going to soften our language to condone illegal entry to Australia by boat. We want to stop this practice not socialise it. We do not share the angst of the previous government on this issue that led to their endless double-mindedness and policy paralysis that underpinned the people smuggling trade.

The amount of media interviews by Labor immigration ministers did not make up for their unprecedented border protection failures. As a consequence my focus is on the people being smuggled, their smugglers, our mission and the partners we are working with to achieve our goal.

That is where my focus will remain until the boats are stopped.

198 people rescued from one asylum boat, 72 intercepted on another

THE government's boat policy is being swamped, with a record number of asylum seekers arriving this month including 198 people rescued after they called triple-0

The Australian Maritime Safety Authority sent HMAS Broome to rescue passengers on the stricken vessel northwest of Christmas Island on Friday morning.

It was the second biggest boatload to arrive since Labor was elected in 2007. The biggest - carrying 211 - was intercepted last month.

The asylum seekers were taken to Christmas Island for security, health and identity checks.

Later, ACV Hervey Bay, operating under the control of Border Protection Command, intercepted a suspected irregular entry vessel north of Cocos and it is believed there were 72 people on board.

Since Labor announced it would send asylum seekers to Nauru and Manus Island last month, 3256 people, including more than 2000 this month, have arrived - more than six times the current capacity of Nauru's processing centre.

There were due to be 500 places in Nauru by the end of the month, with 1500 to be the final capacity and 600 at Manus Island, where the army is constructing a tent camp.

The new boats arrived as 31 more Sri Lankan asylum seekers were flown to Nauru. They boarded a midnight charter flight in Darwin and landed at 5am yesterday with the Department of Immigration keen to show asylum seekers will be taken from mainland detention centres - not just Christmas Island.

After the new group left the plane to be bused to the Topside camp, two Sri Lankan asylum seekers who have spent only weeks on Nauru left on the charter plane bound for home.

They will get resettlement allowances of up to $3300 each.

Another asylum seeker asked to leave Nauru last week and was flown home while and a group of 18 Sri Lankan asylum seekers asked to be flown home from Christmas Island before they could be sent to the remote Pacific Island.
