Revealed: Julia Gillard lost her job after law firm's secret investigation

JULIA Gillard left her job as a partner with law firm Slater & Gordon as a direct result of a secret internal probe in 1995 into controversial work she had done for her then boyfriend, a union boss accused of corruption, The Weekend Australian can reveal.

Nick Styant-Browne, a former equity partner of the firm, broke a 17-year silence yesterday to reveal that the firm's probe included a confidential formal interview with the Prime Minister - then an industrial lawyer - on September 11, 1995, which was "recorded and transcribed".

In the interview, Ms Gillard stated that she could not categorically rule out that she had personally benefited from union funds in the renovation of her Melbourne house, according to Mr Styant-Browne.

She said in the interview that she believed she had paid for all the work and materials, and had receipts, which she later produced.

The firm's probe revolved around Ms Gillard's work since mid-1992 for the Australian Workers Union and her then boyfriend - the AWU's ambitious leader at the time, Bruce Wilson - as well as her direct role in establishing the AWU Workplace Reform Association for Mr Wilson.

Mr Styant-Browne's revelations today mark the first time that anyone among the former and present partners of her employer before she started her political career has spoken on the record about matters that have controversially dogged Ms Gillard since 1995.

Mr Styant-Browne, now a Seattle-based lawyer, said the partnership "took a very serious view" of these and other matters, "and accepted her resignation".

"The firm was scrupulous to ensure these matters were both properly investigated and Ms Gillard was given every opportunity to explain her involvement," Mr Styant-Browne said. "Ms Gillard conveyed to me that she thought she had been 'shabbily' treated after eight years of service."

In response to a series of detailed questions from The Weekend Australian, a spokesman for Ms Gillard said last night she had "made clear that she was not involved in any wrongdoing, and has dealt with these allegations previously". "The Prime Minister maintains good relations with Slater & Gordon," he said.

The legal entity that Ms Gillard began to establish for Mr Wilson from mid-1992 was used by Mr Wilson and his then friend, AWU bagman and West Australian branch head Ralph Blewitt, to allegedly corruptly receive hundreds of thousands of dollars from large companies.

The companies were told their money would pay for safety and training of AWU members on major work sites. However, the funds were allegedly siphoned off for purposes including the personal use of Mr Wilson and Mr Blewitt. At the time, the AWU's then national leaders, Ian Cambridge and Bill Ludwig, were not made aware of the entity's existence. They were unaware that large sums of money had been going into accounts linked to the association, and that those funds were subsequently withdrawn by Mr Wilson and Mr Blewitt for purposes including the purchase of a $230,000 house in Kerr Street, Fitzroy. Mr Cambridge called on the federal Labor government to establish a royal commission into what he regarded as serious and criminal rorting by union officials.

Ms Gillard has repeatedly and strenuously denied that she had any knowledge of what the association that she had set up was going to be used for. She has also denied receiving any benefit from the funds. She has repeatedly rejected claims made in parliament that renovations to her own house in Melbourne in the early-to-mid 1990s were part-funded by money allegedly siphoned off by Mr Wilson.

Mr Styant-Browne revealed yesterday that Ms Gillard had said in her formal interview on September 11, 1995, that "she could not categorically deny AWU union or (AWU) Workplace Reform Association monies" had been used in the renovation of her own house in Melbourne. He said she had subsequently produced receipts for work done on the Abbotsford property.

In a two-page statement to The Weekend Australian, Mr Styant-Browne also revealed unusual circumstances surrounding what he described as Ms Gillard's "legal and related work to establish the AWU Workplace Reform Association in Western Australia".

He said that in her formal interview, Ms Gillard had confirmed that "she did not open a file at the firm" to establish the association, and that she could not at the time recall any reason why a file was not opened. He said that she had stated that no other lawyer at the firm worked on the matter, and "to her recollection, no other lawyer was consulted". She stated in the interview that she "was not involved in opening or operating any bank accounts for the association," Mr Styant-Browne said.

Referring to the recorded interview, Mr Styant-Browne said: "She understood the purpose of the association was to hold re-election funds for union officials contributed by individual union members and fundraisers. She stated it was referred to as a re-election or slush fund. She had been in a relationship with Mr Wilson for nearly four years commencing in late 1991.

"She and Mr Wilson attended the auction of 85 Kerr Street, Fitzroy in early 1993 where Mr Wilson made a successful bid for the house which was purchased in the name of Ralph Blewitt. Mr Blewitt did not attend the auction. She understood the house was a property investment made by Mr Blewitt, and that Mr Wilson would live there as a trusted tenant. She believed this arrangement suited them both.

"She had extensively renovated her own house in Abbotsford. Mr Wilson had assisted in the renovations. She believed she had paid for all the work and materials, and had receipts which she agreed to produce. She was aware someone had sought payment from the AWU for work and materials he had supplied for the house. He was mistaken or misinformed. But she could not categorically deny AWU union or Workplace Association monies had been used for any of the work. As at the time of the interview, her relationship with Mr Wilson had recently ended."

Mr Styant-Browne said the conduct of Slater & Gordon in waiving its conveyancing fee for the purchase of the Fitzroy house and lending $150,000 to complete the sale was not unusual.

"Like many law firms, Slater & Gordon regularly did discounted or free conveyances for clients who held office in its client corporations or organisations. Like any labour law firm, the fees for these conveyances for union officials were regularly waived, " he said.

"Slater & Gordon conducted a solicitors' contributory mortgage practice, which made loans secured by first mortgage over properties up to a percentage of a sworn valuation obtained for the specific purpose of the loan. A partner of the firm was designated as the trustee for the mortgage on behalf of the contributors, and signed the mortgage in that capacity. Legal fees or disbursements for the mortgage formed part of the loan, as was the case for the Kerr Street mortgage. The Kerr Street conveyance and mortgage were both unexceptionable transactions for the firm's conveyancing and mortgage practice.

"As for the florid allegations suggesting a cover-up by Slater & Gordon made in some radio interviews and online media, they are utterly absurd."

Explaining his reasons for speaking out after a long silence, Mr Styant-Browne, 54, who is not a member of any political party, said: "It has recently become clear to me that there is a genuine public interest in this story, which has prompted my statement now".

The Australian revealed earlier this month that Mr Wilson's former close friend, Mr Blewitt, wanted to expose the extent of his alleged scam with Mr Wilson, and that he would admit his own wrongdoing if he received an indemnity from prosecution. Mr Blewitt, 66, said: "My greatest fear is that I incriminate myself but this has to come out now".

The Australian has also reported that internal documents, newly released under Freedom of Information, from an exhaustive police probe at the time show detectives suspected Mr Wilson and Mr Blewitt, were "crooks" and wanted them criminally prosecuted over a $400,000-plus alleged fraud. The documents from the police file include letters showing leaders of the AWU, which remains the most influential industrial supporter of the federal Labor government, were deeply annoyed that the two men were not charged with criminal offences.

The managing director of Slater & Gordon, Andrew Grech, has begun contacting its former clients including Mr Blewitt, Mr Wilson and the AWU, "asking that they agree to waive their right to legal privilege attaching to lawyer-client communication so that we can respond to the public allegations that have been made".

"We are not prepared to have our firm's reputation impugned by the allegations relating to these matters, which occurred almost two decades ago," Mr Grech told The Australian last week.

SUDANESE and Somali-born Victorians are about five times more likely to commit crimes than the wider community, a trend that must be addressed to prevent Cronulla-style social unrest, police warn.
The most common crimes committed by Somali and Sudanese-born Victorians are assault and robbery, illustrating the trend towards increasingly violent robberies by disaffected African youths.

''We've got to fix this now and make sure it doesn't continue, so the kids who are now 10 years old aren't in this offender bracket in five years' time. So we don't get the Cronullas happening,'' Victoria Police Deputy Commissioner Tim Cartwright said.
''[At Cronulla] you had a big chunk of the community disengaged and coming to a point where you have large-scale civil unrest. That's abhorrent to us, to think we would have that.
''You look at the UK riots and you think, we don't ever want to go there, we don't ever want to see segments of our community saying they just don't care what the rest of the community does, they don't care for us, they have no engagement, don't recognise the legal system, don't recognise education.
''In the longer term the challenge for us is to fix that,'' he said.
The police statistics show the rate of offending among the Sudanese community is 7109.1 per 100,000, while for Somali people it is 6141.8 per 100,000. The figure for the wider community is 1301.0 per 100,000.
It is important to note that the overall proportion of crimes statewide committed by the Sudanese and Somali communities is only 0.92 per cent and 0.35 per cent respectively, and that people arrested and charged may falsely identify themselves as being from those communities.

For both Sudanese and Somalis, assault offences are the most common type, constituting 29.5 per cent and 24.3 per cent of all offences respectively.
''Property is one of the issues, so they're stealing iPhones or money or things of value,'' Mr Cartwright said.
''But there's also a concerning trend of violence, violence that's not needed. So once they've got the property the violence continues. Maybe there's a thrill in it, maybe a bit of revenge, but it's coming out of a lot of groups, not just the Africans.''
Chief Commissioner Ken Lay and other senior police recently met members of the African community to discuss the crime statistics and ways to tackle the issue. One person present at the meeting, Abeselom Nega, said he shared some of Mr Cartwright's fears, and that the statistics presented by the police were ''confronting''.
He said the violent offending was a serious concern to the African community, but that it was important to note the positive contribution many Africans made to the wider community.
''I don't have the experience that the Deputy Commissioner has, but prolonged disengagement and disenfranchisement would no doubt lead to social unrest,'' said Mr Nega, who heads iEmpower, an early intervention and diversionary youth service.
''Tackling crime on a daily basis is a reactive response, and the police would have to do that. But I think it is important to have a proactive strategy that addresses the root cause of disengagement.
''Far too many young people are out of school, not in training or employment, and this needs an immediate response from the government and the whole community,'' he said.
''But it is important to recognise that there are many young people making positive contributions to society, and that they are marginalised by the actions of those people who are responsible for the increase in crime.''
Mr Cartwright said it was crucial to recognise that police could not solve the problem simply by locking people up, and that the root causes of high crime rates needed to be tackled.
''The concern when you see these sorts of numbers is that, if you don't do anything about it, it will continue. We lock up all these offenders and there's another, growing tranche behind them who have the same issues,'' he said.

Greens call for increased refugee intake

The Greens will move a motion in the Senate calling on the Government to act quickly to increase Australia's humanitarian intake of refugees.
The Houston report on asylum seekers recommends that Australia immediately increase its yearly intake from 20,000 to 27,000 within five years.
Greens Senator Hanson-Young says the Government must also fund the agencies in Malaysia and Indonesia which look after asylum seekers while they are having their claims assessed.

She says the Federal Government has adopted the harsh aspects of the Houston report but it must also implement the other recommendations.
"We have seen no commitment, no timeline, no genuine desire to implement those [other recommendations]," she said.
"The Government must start with increasing immediately the humanitarian intake to 20,000."
The move comes as the Navy assisted another asylum seeker boat east of Ashmore Island.
Initial reports suggest there were 19 passengers and two crew on board.
They are being transferred to Darwin where they will undergo initial health and security checks, and could be processed on Nauru or Manus Island.
Australian Human Rights Commission president Professor Gillian Triggs warned the Government that her organisation will be watching it closely as it implements its offshore processing plans.
She told The World Today the Federal Government's amendments could review judicial oversight of offshore processing arrangements.
"By stripping away Section 1(98A) of the Migration Act, which was the basis on which the High Court last acted, it does make it much more difficult to have a High Court review of the circumstances in which third party processing will take place," she said.
She said the arrangement could mean that human rights protections will be violated.
"It's not a given at all and all I can do as president is to raise my concern ... of course everything depends on the facts ultimately," she said.
"We don't quite yet know what the conditions are actually going to be."
While there will be no judicial oversight under the arrangement, the locations the Government chooses for regional processing will be subject to parliamentary scrutiny.
Professor Triggs says that is not enough.
"I think that in the current political environment, the opportunity for parliamentary scrutiny is not particularly strong - although obviously there are people in parliament who are willing to keep a very strong watching brief on this," she said.
"So I wouldn't dismiss that as a precaution."
She said was concerned the Immigration Minister would no longer be required to consider the interests of individual children.
"While in the past the Minister had to give consent in writing, that requirement no longer exists in the legislation and the Migration Act itself takes precedence above the Guardianship of Children Act," she said.

PRIME Minister Julia Gillard is facing new   leadership concerns among key cabinet and caucus supporters over the revival of an alleged 17-year-old union slush fund scandal involving her former boyfriend.

"I did nothing wrong. Have you got an allegation to put to me? If you do not, why are we discussing this?"
Senior government sources have confirmed that over the past two weeks a growing "unease" had crept into the Gillard camp about the scandal "blowing up" and crippling her leadership.

Those fears were compounded yesterday during a fiery interview on Sky's Australian Agenda, when Ms Gillard refused to address allegations raised against her.

"I did nothing wrong. Have you got an allegation to put to me? If you do not, why are we discussing this?" she said.

Ms Gillard has previously denied any knowledge that her then-boyfriend, Australian Workers Union State secretary Bruce Wilson, had allegedly ripped off a union fund that Ms Gillard had set up for him when she was a lawyer with Slater & Gordon in the early '90s.

She refused to answer claims yesterday that she was forced to resign from the firm following an internal investigation in August, 1995.

Why Julia is so upset

Instead she hit out at what she claimed was a "malicious and motivated" campaign against her.

Slater & Gordon late yesterday released a short statement, claiming to have been given permission by Ms Gillard, confirming it conducted a review into the AWU/Wilson affair.

"Ms Gillard co-operated fully with the review and denied any wrongdoing," the firm's managing director Andrew Grech said.

"The review found nothing which contradicted the information provided by Ms Gillard at the time in relation to the AWU/Bruce Wilson allegations and which she has stated consistently since the allegations were first raised."

It claimed that Ms Gillard took leave of absence following the review to campaign for the senate, before her employment officially ended on May 3, 1996 when she joined the office of Victorian Opposition Leader John Brumby.

Allegations were raised at the weekend by a former partner at the firm, Nick Styant-Browne, suggesting Ms Gillard may have acted improperly in helping set up a slush fund for Mr Wilson.

Mr Styant Browne claimed that Ms Gillard said in an interview as part of a formal review of the matter conducted by the firm in 1995, that she could not categorically rule out that she had personally benefited from union funds in the renovation of her Melbourne house.

Mr Styant-Browne said yesterday that he stood by the article and the claims made.

"I think what I have said speaks for itself.

"And I am not aware of any denial by the PM or her spokesperson of any specific allegation about what she said in the Slater & Gordon internal interview," he told The Daily Telegraph.

Opposition Leader Tony Abbott said Ms Gillard had "questions to answer" to the parliament. "I think there are real issues that the PM needs to address," he said.

A topless women’s rights activist hacked down a Christian cross in the Ukrainian capital Kiev with a chain saw in protest at the prosecution of Pussy Riot.

The young woman staged her protest as a Russian court was due to deliver a verdict on three Pussy Riot members for performing a political “punk prayer” at the altar of Moscow’s main cathedral — a case that has been criticised by free-speech advocates around the world.

To show solidarity with the Pussy Riot defendants, Inna Shevchenko, a member of the Ukrainian group Femen which often stages bare-breasted shock performances, destroyed the four-metre high wooden cross bearing the figure of Christ.

The cross, erected in 2005 on a hilltop looking down on the city centre, also served as a memorial to the victims of Stalinist repression and the famine of the 1930s. Two other activists used ropes to direct the fall of the cross.

“No business, not even one as successful as the church, has the right to attack women’s rights,” Shevchenko, 22, a veteran of several Femen protests, said after bringing down the cross.

A criminal case has been formally opened for hooliganism in connection with the incident, police spokesman Ihor Mykhalko said. The maximum sentence for the offence is four years in jail.

Shevchenko, who had “Free Riot” written across her chest and arms, demonstratively crossed herself Orthodox-style before taking the chain saw to the cross.

Afterwards she posed for photographers with her arms spread-eagled. There were no police at the scene.

Femen’s move seems certain to trigger outrage, both among religious groups in the predominantly Orthodox Christian country and among relatives of the millions of victims of famine and repression that took place under Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin.

The cross had been installed near the former Kiev headquarters of the Soviet NKVD state security agency which was the main instrument of Stalin's purges.

Friday’s move represented a departure for Femen activists previously known for baring their breasts at public events to highlight their campaign against prostitution and sex tourism.

When Ukraine hosted the European soccer championship in June - a popular event that many Ukrainians saw as recognition of the country’s place in the European mainstream — Femen used the event to stage high-visibility protests.

Femen activists attempted to steal the championship’s trophy and held several protests in the official Kiev “fan zone” where thousands of foreign tourists were gathered.

INDONESIAN authorities are bracing for a huge influx of boat people, anticipating as many as 10,000 asylum-seekers are waiting in Malaysia to transit through the archipelago and on to Australia.

This estimate was backed by a Malaysian group that deals with unauthorised immigrants. An Australian Government source warned of the potential for a similar influx to the thousands who began arriving in Australia from the late 1990s.

About 1500 asylum-seekers have arrived in Indonesia this year and registered for refugee status, almost all travelling by boat from Malaysia. Another 1500 are believed to have arrived and have not registered.

Indonesian police intelligence suggests between 7000 and 10,000 more people are waiting in Malaysia to make the journey once their passage is organised by people-smugglers.

"It could be 10,000," said senior commissioner Eko Danianto, head of the people smuggling unit at the Indonesian National Police.

"They comprise a mix of nationalities, not only Afghans. There are also Sri Lankan, Myanamerese (Burmese), Iraqis."

However an Australian academic, Dr Roslyn Richardson, of Charles Sturt University, has said asylum seekers know little about Australia before their arrival here.

Networks of people-smugglers service the 1 million Indonesian illegal workers who regularly travel to Malaysia by boat. The same networks also help arrange passage to Australia via Indonesia.

On Saturday, Malaysian authorities arrested 36 Afghans and six Pakistanis being smuggled to Australia via Indonesia. On Sunday, a boat carrying 194 asylum-seekers, mostly Sri Lankans, was intercepted near Christmas Island. Immigration sources said it was believed to have come from Malaysia. It was the biggest boatload of asylum-seekers to arrive in eight years.

"When they start getting big numbers through on a boat, they [people smugglers] get credibility and they get money. It becomes a virtuous cycle for them," said one Australian immigration enforcement official.

Australia and Indonesia have improved co-operation on people-smugglers and have disrupted more boats than the 16 that have reached Australia this year.

With Australian financial and technical support, Indonesia will announce tomorrow up to 12 police "strike teams" dedicated to combat human trafficking.

But a new wave of asylum-seekers from Malaysia will test that capability, which will take months to get running.

Aegile Fernandez, the co-ordinator of the Malaysian immigration support group Tenaganita, agreed with the assessment that up to 10,000 asylum-seekers were waiting in Malaysia. "There would be 10,000," she said. "I would put the blame on these agencies that have been promising Australia as the destination."

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees has 49,000 registered refugees and asylum-seekers in Malaysia and estimated there are 45,000 unregistered illegal immigrants.

The Australian Government declined to comment, except to note the number of asylum-seekers was rising worldwide. However, one source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said: "It could be 10,000. It could be 5000 or 20,000. We just don't know."

Dr Richardson said strong deterrent messages from Australia did not cut through.

"People smugglers do not pass on detailed policy information," she said yesterday. The asylum seekers knew little of Australia, let alone its immigration policies.

In her study, the reasons 27 refugees gave for coming to Australia centred on its comparative cheapness and accessibility.

The research contradicts Federal Opposition claims that policy changes last year led to a surge in boats.

A report out today by the Migration Institute of Australia found migration agents were perceived to be poorly trained and shonky by parliamentarians, refugee advocates, official and the courts.

Damning findings have been made against organisers of the 2011 Kimberley Ultramarathon which left runners suffering horrific burns after a bushfire swept through the race route.

Two runners, Kate Sanderson and Turia Pitt, suffered burns to more than 60 per cent of their bodies after they were trapped in a gorge by a bushfire as they were running in the 100km race in Western Australia's northernmost region in September.

Michael Hull and Martin Van Der Merwe also received serious burns and required skin grafts.

A parliamentary committee report, released on Thursday, found Hong Kong-based organisers Racing the Planet did not take reasonable steps to ensure the safety of event participants.

Committee chairman Mike Nahan, the member for Riverton, said the company's biggest mistake was not liaising with the Fire and Emergency Services Authority of WA (FESA) when it planned the event.

"The level of communication and consultation with relevant agencies and individuals regarding the event's risk management plan was generally inadequate, both in terms of its timeliness and its approach," Dr Nahan told parliament.

"Specifically, Racing the Planet failed to communicate and consult adequately with the Shire of Wyndham East Kimberley - the shire in which the race was held - the WA police force, the Fire and Emergency Services (FESA) and St John's Ambulance service."

Dr Nahan said FESA's Kununurra office would have provided advice that could have led to the route being changed or cancelled.

Ms Sanderson's brother Ian said his demands for an inquiry were fobbed off by WA Health Minister Kim Hames until opposition justice spokeswoman Michelle Roberts intervened and made it happen.

"He was telling me that there were no grounds and no means by which the government could conduct an inquiry," Mr Sanderson told reporters.

"This report proves him utterly wrong."

Dr Hames rejected the claim, but said he "absolutely" believed Racing the Planet should offer financial compensation to the victims, saving them from pursuing it in court.

"They should have known the risks ... if there is anyone to blame in all this it is quite clearly Racing the Planet," he said.

While Premier Colin Barnett earlier this year ruled out state government ex-gratia payments to the victims, Dr Hames said it would be considered.

"There is a case being made by the committee that while it is an international company based in Hong Kong, that it would be very difficult for those who were severely injured to extract money from that company, that the government should consider providing financial support by way of ex-gratia payment," he said.

The WA government had three months to respond to the report and it was up to Attorney-General Michael Mischin if he wanted to act before that deadline, Dr Hames said.

He said one of the most important recommendations of the report was that event organisers be insured in Australia - advice he intended the government to follow.

"Quite clearly, the recommendation of the committee is that the government should require any organisation running an event in Australia to have insurance that is claimable in Australia and sue-able in Australia."

Mr Sanderson said it was "entirely possible" the organisers would make voluntary payments to victims "based on common sense and decency".

Earlier on Thursday, solicitor Greg Walsh, who is acting for Ms Pitt and four others, said a writ against Racing the Planet would be filed in coming days.

"Conservatively, the case would be worth something in excess of $10 million," Mr Walsh told ABC radio.

Ms Pitt spent more than $3 million to have her face, hands and body reconstructed.

Interesting to see Labor's Warren Mundine calling for his Union / GetUp funded  Labor Party, to divorce itself from it's "Co Party" the Greens.

I wonder does he still support the works and ideology of Venezuela's Hugo Chavez, Mundine and others are very impressed with Hugo Chavez, so much so they wrote the following letter to him:

THOUSANDS of Muslims gathered in Lakemba Mosque overnight for a major religious celebration known as "the night of power''.

More than 10,000 Muslim worshippers amassed at Lakemba Mosque on Wangee Rd for a night they consider to be more holy than any other, Laylat al-Qadr - The night of power.

"Tonight is the Laylat al-Qadr,'' Adnan Alameddine, 19, from Greenacre said. "It's a night where all Muslims celebrate the day that Allah sent down the Quran to Prophet Mohammed.''

The huge numbers were anticipated by police who closed the street allowing cars to park wherever they could so worshippers could get inside the Mosque and converse on the roadway afterwards.

During this celebration one night of prayer is said to equate for 1,000 months of proper worship.

"We're just all here gathered today to celebrate it by praying, reading Quran and listening to all the Sheiks,'' Mr Alameddine said. "It's a good night.''

Why Communism Loves Children

Communism needs children. Only children will obey the tyranny of adult delusions without question. Only the young are naïve enough to hate all authority and to destroy all achievement. For youth, Communism is not a delusion but an exciting, heroic cause.

Cambodia’s Pol Pot knew this. He overtook his country on April 17, 1975,with a huge gang of young teenagers called the Khmer Rouge. Through these obedient subjects, Pol Pot murdered nearly 2 million people of his own nation, one-third of the population.In less than four years, Pol Pot created a society of pure Communism—ghastly, murderous tyranny.

Jean-Louis Margolin, in “Cambodia: A Country of Disconcerting Crimes,” in The Black Book of Communism (ed. Mark Kramer. Harvard: 1999), says that Pol Pot tried to establish Communism “in one fell swoop, without the long transitional period” that characterized the Marxist method.” Though his party was called the Party of Democratic Kampuchea , it was a horde of raw hellions. “Money was abolished in a week, total collectivization was achieved in less than two years; social distinctions were suppressed by the elimination of entire classes of property owners, intellectuals, and businessmen, and the ancient antagonism between urban and rural areas was solved by emptying the cities in a single week” (p.577).

The enforcers of this disaster were “programmed” youth. Pol Pot separated children from parents and indoctrinated them with fanatical denial of natural affection and respect for familial relationships. He understood the latent resentment of youth toward parents and adults, and youth’s penchant for destruction. Destruction is naturally exciting. Pol Pot knew that there was a “killing field” in the heart of the young, and he tapped into that virgin resource. This is clear in Roland Joffé’s 1984 documentary, The Killing Fields .

This harrowing but rewarding 1984 drama concerns the real-life relationship between New York Times reporter Sidney Schanberg and his Cambodian assistant Dith Pran (Haing S. Ngor), the latter left at the mercy of the Khmer Rouge after Schanberg--who chose to stay after American evacuation but was booted out--failed to get him safe passage. Filmmaker Roland Joffé, previously a documentarist, made his feature debut with this account of Dith's rocky survival in the ensuing madness of the Khmer Rouge's genocidal campaign. The script spends some time with Schanberg's feelings of guilt after the fact, but most of the movie is a shattering re-creation of hell on Earth. The late Haing S. Ngor--a real-life doctor who had never acted before and who lived through the events depicted by Joffé--is outstanding, and he won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar. Oscars also went to cinematographer Chris Menges and editor Jim Clark. --Tom Keogh

Children surrendered their natural family bonds to the unnatural vision of the Anka, the party, the Big Brother. Children became part of a national gang, and they reveled in the thrills of vandalism. Youth were given orders to not only be disrespectful to parents and adults, but to betray them, to be physically cruel to them, and even to murder them. Children under this satanic delusion could not be dissuaded or relieved.

Yet even in accounts like Children of Cambodia’s Killing Fields  (Yale: 1999) and Jean-Louis Margolin’s essay, there is always stark neglect to account for Pol Pot’s use of children. Children of Cambodia’s Killing Fields emphasizes the horror stories of children who survived the victimization; there are no studies of how the children of the Khmer Rouge were recruited and indoctrinated. Margolin’s artful 70-page essay only mentions the destruction of family relations in passing, and not as the foundation of Khmer Rouge Communism.

The Communist spirit of resentment and violence was deeply absorbed by these kidnapped children. There was nothing to prevent the tide of megalomania. No religion in this essentially rural country could serve as a shield against the depravity of human nature to which Communism appealed. Buddhism was impotent, and the “Khmer smile” of Apsara, indigenous goddess of Cambodia, was an indifferent mockery.

But Communism is the god of discontent, and needs no blessing. All it needs is a heart willing to hate, willing to call envy “justice.” Equality then means the violent destruction of all social and cultural distinctions. Freedom means absolute dictatorship over the people.

Sounds like a police state, yet similar underlying conditions are developing in American youth, under our own nose. How? Because of prescribed permissiveness in American public schools: police are required to enforce the most basic, necessary child control. Kindergarteners are being arrested, handcuffed, and taken out of their schools, because only the police exercise physical authority in schools: teachers have abdicated discipline. Other adults merely frustrate the child with meaningless words.

Through this new Communism, the child is in this sense “equal” to the adult, and thus controls the day. The child answers only to the police. Children are indoctrinated to expect police intervention for safety and discipline. Control doesn’t come from the adults in schools, or the adults at home, but rather from the police, or Big Brother.

  

“Policed” conditions already exist in other countries of the world. And the need for a world police state, a global government, has been advocated for decades. But no one thinks about the role indoctrinated children play in the development of such a world.

Learn from America: Leftist school legislation says teachers must not control the child. Let the child rule.

This generation of children may become the next street thugs whose rebellion paves the way for a more authoritarian state. And no child will be left behind.

The Eco - Con That Keeps on Taking

Let’s imagine that we all live the Agenda 21 way.

We own no land. We have no guns. We have no vote. Our children are the property of a global government taught by NGO agents called Career Certification Specialists, and God is outlawed and a thing of the past.

We are assigned to employers who are assigned to our settlement territories. There is no local government and there are no counties or cities. We are barred from large forests, natural fresh waters, and beachfront properties, which are all owned by businesses and used, tax free, by their families and friends.

The population of what was once American people, is now squeezed into settlement communities in the center of the country. The wealthy live in mega-mansions, and conservation easements, corridors, and buffer zones separate us from them. The mountains and large forested areas of the country are strictly off limits to Mid-North American people (M-NAPs), and corporate government owns all land and watershed systems.

We drive less and less as government security and the Real ID denies more and more driver’s licenses for more and more reasons. The cut-off age for driver’s licenses is lowered to 60 and the driving age is raised to following compulsory military service, but all driving is restricted to 25 miles a week. Then 20. Then 15, and so forth.

Employers send trams to pick us up for work and drop us off. That will come out of our paychecks, but enforced non-pollution is just that – enforced.

Via nano-technology and widespread RFID use, all pretense of privacy will leave our imaginations, and we become a highly managed species to find, punish, eavesdrop upon, and watch (Sub-dermal chipping was tested on grazing animals, then dogs, and chipping centers are now open for business in Florida and being tested on senior citizens. Children will be next under the guise of security/anti-kidnapping technology, and then banking rights will require chipping).

As we become ill more frequently, living in such close and small quarters, we are given the medical care that the government deems appropriate, and NGO governing boards determine the definition of human quality of life. Remember that human life is to be reduced by 40-75% depending upon which U.N. conservation partners you listen to.

At least 50% of the North American continent is off limits to Homo Sapiens. Between the government and large land trusts, more than half of American land is already in their hands.

Species of large mammals are repopulated. Wolves and cougars, mountain lions and bears guard the wilderness areas to ensure that people keep away. All wilderness areas are now the private property of corporate government. Watch for fencing.

International conglomerations, which are partnered with international conservation/land trusts, and all partnered with the United Nations, are the holders and keepers of land stolen by complex business schemes. Those conglomerations and their partnerships, which “control” and “aid” and “create” the conservation strategy of all life on Earth and are the self-proclaimed custodians of all living ecosystems, are historically, and remain the largest polluters on Earth. Their leadership and their partners are all multi-millionaires and billionaires.

All children, following 10-12 years of indoctrination, are soldiers. All women are rated for limited reproductive rights and licenses will be issued for reproductive rights. The mentally or physically damaged are eliminated. All income is reduced to under 20K per year, and American suburbia is leveled and rebuilt into business and trade corridors.

The Mexican and Canadian borders are dissolved. Martial law is implemented to keep the peace and to put down all attempted uprisings. Troublemakers will be killed or removed from the general population and placed into determent camps, which are currently readied and staffed.

The sick, infirmed, and the children of troublemakers will become wards of the state. Some will be re-engineered and some will be put down.

Now, why would all this happen to the human population? Why would big business and the largest banks in the world ever conceive of such a plan? Why, to protect nature, of course! That is what the U.N. has declared – and the World Bank and the World Trade Organization and the American government. And if you believe that, I’ve got some swampland to sell you, located in a U.N. Biosphere Reserve, which is surrounded by a conservation easement, which is surrounded by a buffer zone (the politically correct term for de-militarized zone) in deed-restricted Florida, which is actually owned by the corporation of Florida, under the CEO Governor-General.

Just keep telling yourselves – we elected them – we elected them.
