Aunty is not the all-conquering audience-snatcher, it’s the great unwatched
CUT & PASTE
The Australian
April 4 2014
44 per cent of people watched the ABC for more than four minutes a week.
ABC managing director Mark Scott, Wednesday:
NEARLY five years ago I (delivered a) lecture ... entitled “The Fall of Rome’’ … I looked at why (media) empires fail … The evidence that was clear then is even clearer now.
Decline. ABC annual report 2000:
ABC TV’s five-city weekly reach was 69.9 per cent.
Fall. ABC annual report, 2013:
ABC1’S average weekly (five-city) ... reach in 2012-13 was ... 44 per cent.
Define reach? ABC.net.au:
“REACH” is defined as the number of unique viewers who tune in to a channel for five consecutive minutes or more over a week.
Scott, Wednesday:
COMMERCIAL networks know that winning in news gives you a platform ... and they invest accordingly.
Seems to be paying off. David Dale, The Sydney Morning Herald, March 25:
WHAT Australia watched on Wednesday … 3. Nine News, 4. Nine News 6.30, 5. Seven News, 6. Seven News/ Today Tonight, 7. A Current Affair …
Dismal diet? Scott, Wednesday:
THE ABC offers a different diet — to what remains a large and appreciative audience.
Large? Dale, SMH, March 25:
(IN 10th place) ABC News (with) 848,000 viewers (nationwide).
Scott, Wednesday:
ONLY three certainties remain as a compelling live free-to-air proposition: news, sport and whatever TV marketing departments can convince you to watch tonight.
Michael Idato, the SMH, December 1 last year:
(THE ABC had no shows in the) Top 5 sport broadcasts, Top 5 single events … Top 5 news and current affairs ... Top 5 reality shows ...
Scott, Wednesday:
LAST year all 50 of the top rating programs were Australian ...
How many from Aunty? Idato, SMH, December 1 last year:
(OF the) Top 5 Australian dramas (only number) 5. The Dr Blake Mysteries (ABC) 1.03 million.
Proud of this? Scott, Wednesday:
AND, I might add, not one of those Top 50 rating shows was on the ABC — a fact conveniently lost on those who persist in depicting the ABC as an all-conquering, audience-snatching competitor.
Audience snatcher? Idato, SMH, December 1ast year:
ABC (with ABC2, ABC3 and ABC News 24) (had) an 18.1 per cent share.
Scott, The Australian Financial Review, Wednesday:
NO other media organisation has a more comprehensive process for detailing with audience complaints …
Marc Hendrickx, The Australian, March 14, 2012:
THE ABC has turned the process of correcting even the most basic factual errors into a saga ... In 2010-11, the ABC received 41,258 complaints ... only 463 … were upheld.
The future? Scott, Wednesday:
THERE are countless examples of iconic brands ... that failed to see what the technologically changing world meant for their business models.
The future. Daniel Hannan, The (UK) Telegraph, March 25:
THE (UK) government has indicated … the BBC will become, in practice, a pay-on-demand service … It won’t be political objections that do for the BBC monopoly, but technological progress. And, of course, you can’t argue with progress.

There is no light at the end of my tunnel, yet everyone says You can show it to me. Lord, help me find that light. Let it be Your light. Give me someone to help. Let me feel You with me. Lord, let me see what You provide and see an alternative to taking my life. Let me feel Your blessings and comfort. Amen.

"The chief weapon in the quiver of all Islamist expansionist movements, is the absolute necessity to keep victims largely unaware of the actual theology plotting their demise. To complete this deception, a large body of ‘moderates’ continue to spew such ridiculous claims as “Islam means Peace” thereby keeping non-Muslims from actually reading the Qur’an, the Sira, the Hadith, or actually looking into the past 1400 years of history. Islamists also deny or dismiss the concept of ‘abrogation’, which is the universal intra-Islamic method of replacing slightly more tolerable aspects of the religion in favor of more violent demands for Muslims to slay and subdue infidels"

Aussie's Living and Dieing Down Under : Christine Armstrong, Tathra Shark attack.
Rob Armstrong spotted the shark that took the life of his wife Christine at Tathra Wharf

The Daily Telegraph
April 4,2014
FOR the past 14 years, Christine and Rob Armstrong made the short trek down to the Tathra Surf Club for their daily swim.
As they swam past the breakers yesterday morning on the 600m journey to the Tathra Wharf, the pair took their last few strokes together before Mrs Armstrong made the fateful decision to return to shore alone.
At the 200m mark, the 63-year-old had told the group she was not feeling well.Mr Armstrong continued towards the wharf as part of his morning routine — he would never see his wife of 44 years again.
47 DEATHS IN 100 YEARS: HISTORY OF NSW SHARK ATTACKS
FROM YESTERDAY: WOMAN KILLED BY SHARK AT TATHRA
It was Mr Armstrong who spotted the shark — up to 4m long — lurking. As he made his way toward shore with the other swimmers they formed a huddle and kept a close watch for the shark.
Residents yesterday told The Daily Telegraph there was a resident great white shark that had been sighted near the wharf.
When Mr Armstrong could not locate his wife he started a frantic search — looking for her distinctive pink and orange cap.
At 8.40am police, ambulance and surf lifesavers were informed of a fatal shark attack — the second in NSW in less than five months.
An orange buoy was dropped on the spot where it was believed Mrs Armstrong had been attacked by the shark, likely to be either a great white or bronze whaler.
Late yesterday dye was dropped in the water to determine the currents as they continued searching for Mrs Armstrong’s body.
A witness has told police he saw Mrs Armstrong being attacked by the shark from nearby rocks but was too far away to help.
Inspector Jason Edmunds confirmed Mr Armstrong had seen a shark: “Rob was part of the group of five people. He did see a shape of a shark he described as three to four metres long and quite big.’’
As Mr Armstrong and other swimmers were treated for shock on the beach, the tight-knit town of Tathra, with a population of 1500, pulled together.
Mrs Armstrong, who helped run the surf club’s bronze medallion courses, was described as being “very loved by many people”.
“She has been swimming at Tathra Beach for 14 years and was an experienced and committed member of the surf club,” the club said.
“She was a senior surf club trainer for many years. Swimming brought her much joy and many friends.”
Her fellow clubbies from the Tathra, Narooma, Bermagui and Pambula surf clubs put aside their grief and jumped in five IRBs and two Jet Skis to search for the recently retired and popular member.
Far South Coast director of lifesaving Andrew Edmunds said club members were “extremely upset”.
He said Mrs Armstrong “was a capable, active lifesaver”.
“Our hearts go out to Christine’s family and friends and we are doing all we can to support club members at this time,” Mr Edmunds said.
Earlier this year Mrs Armstrong competed in the Wharf to Waves annual swimming competition and finished fourth in the 60 to 69 years age group.
Tathra Beach will remain closed today as the search resumes early this morning.
The Department of Primary Industries has appointed a shark biologist to assist investigators and attempt to identify what species of shark was responsible for the attack.
Mrs Armstrong is the 47th person to be killed by a shark in NSW waters in the past 100 years.
HISTORIC WHARF A BELOVED LANDMARK THAT’S SEEN SOME SORROW
THE Tathra Wharf is one of the Sapphire Coast’s best-known landmarks — but recently, it has become known more for tragedy than its historical significance.
On November 18, 2008, Shane O’Neill leapt from the 5m-high jetty into the ocean after his four-year-old son Riley and 15-month-old son Travis fell from the wharf.
Mr O’Neill, 28, struggled to find his boys in the darkness and himself succumbed to the water.
He was declared dead at the scene and his sons were located and taken to Bega Hospital but sadly did not survive.
The tragedy shattered the small town but the wharf remains an important part of the community.
Every year, more than 400 people compete in the 1.2km Tathra Wharf to Waves ocean swim. Construction of the wharf dates back to 1860 and it serviced the local farming industry before being decommissioned as a coastal steamer wharf in the 1950s.
After that, a push to pull the wharf down was defeated by the Tathra Wharf Action Group and money was raised to restore part of it. In the 1990s, the wharf came to prominence after shocking photos of shark fishing appeared.
BAITING BAN WAS AIMED AT SAFETY Geoff Chambers
TATHRA lifeguards raised concerns about fishermen setting illegal baits and attracting big sharks close to the beach.
In 2012, Tathra Surf Life Saving Club surf boat captain Sharon Clarke expressed concern for a group of 20 swimmers — including Christine Armstrong — who swam 1.2km between the beach and the wharf every morning.
At the time, the surf club found a black balloon floating 150m off the beach, which was holding bait to lure in sharks.
“We all swim in the ocean knowing there are sharks, but you don’t like the idea that there are people luring and attracting sharks in so close,” Ms Clarke said at the time.
For decades, fishermen from across the country would come to Tathra wharf to catch great white sharks and bronze whalers hunting bait fish in the cool channels off the coast.
In 1996, after a push by locals, Bega Valley Shire Council banned shark fishing from the wharf and a sign was erected on the edge of the wharf. Off the wharf, fishermen would place a perimeter of bait settings between 600m to 1000m.
The Daily Telegraph has been told there is still some shark fishing but that it was smaller sharks being caught. A Department of Primary Industries spokeswoman said the fines for illegal shark fishing vary from $500 to $220,000 and possibly a two-year prison sentence if a threatened shark is caught.
Local oyster fisherman Brad Ellison said he did not think anyone fished for sharks from the wharf anymore after it was previously banned.

The Islamic Juggernaut
THE ISLAMIC JUGGERNAUT MARCHES ON
... and you can't even hear the footsteps
Like bacteria in a petri dish, an all-pervasive Sharia law has silently, overnight, eaten into your life-style and bank account. A bacterial bath of Islamic “culture” is feeding on its host’s nutrients and, when sated, it is programmed to move on to the next host.
Paedophilia again excused as “cultural differences”
Twisted view of life and justice

HOW can “cultural differences” be an excuse for child sexual offences? Yet, as Patrick Lion reported in The Daily Telegraph yesterday, this is the excuse a Victorian magistrate has accepted as a “mitigating factor” in the case of an Afghan man charged with the attempted kidnap of a four-year-old girl.
Ali Jaffari, 35, had already been convicted last year of sexually molesting two boys, aged 12 and 13, at a Geelong beach. Despite the fact he showed no remorse and the prosecution wanted him jailed, Magistrate Ann McGarvie let him off with a two-year community corrections order, saying he had a low risk of re offending.
Jaffari was back in Geelong Magistrate’s Court after he allegedly snatched a four-year-old girl at a cricket oval in Geelong last year while her father and brother were distracted.
But in February Magistrate Ron Saines threw out the child stealing charge and cited “cultural differences”.
In what culture is their any different view to ours, that preying on children is unacceptable? Child sexual abuse in Afghanistan might be “endemic”, as a US State department report puts it.
But that doesn’t mean it is culturally acceptable, especially not to parents and children. There is no culture on Earth in which it is normal or innocent for a stranger to molest little boys or allegedly kidnap a little girl.
And, if there were, the last thing we should do is calibrate our justice system to accommodate such a despicable culture.
Jaffari arrived in Australia by boat in 2010 and spent 15 months in a detention centre before being released into the community and granted a permanent protection visa at a time when the Gillard government had lost control of the borders. Immigration Minister Scott Morrison is now trying to find a way to strengthen his power to cancel visas on character grounds.
But there is only so much he can do if courts are going to excuse child predators on cultural grounds.

Q&A Fat Eqyptian Vandal, Mona Eltahawy appears on THEIR ABC
Their ABC'S,Q&A: a celebration of self-loathing and Leftist bias
Andrew Bolt –
Tuesday, April 01, 2014
Last night’s episode of Q&A was one of the most outrageously and offensively biased of an ABC show that has been uniformly biased.
It was also an insight into the broad Left’s loathing of free speech and the West, and into the racism that informs its anti-racist posturing.
Jewish readers should note one part in particular: the unchallenged account of one panellist telling how anti-"hate-speech" activism can be used against defenders of Israel. This is a point I’ve tried to warn Jewish leaders about again and again. Here is how the show unfolded.
FIRST, STACK THE PANEL
Host Tony Jones stacked the panel with known Leftists: Egyptian activist and commentator Mona Eltahawy, Somalian peace and human rights advocate Ilwad Elman; The Observer’s ethics columnist Lucy Siegle; and the international head of Human Rights Watch, Kenneth Roth. Add Jones and the count was five people of the Left to a single panellist, Human Rights Commissioner Tim Wilson, who is not.
NEXT, ATTACK THE TOKEN NON-LEFTIST
Even those odds - five to one - were still not good enough for Jones, who ambushed Wilson with a set-up. Jones devoted the second question to hostile videos from viewers attacking Wilson like no other panellist was attacked:
ROBERT MAYNARD: Tim Wilson’s comments to The Age this weekend calling it bizarre that racial terms may be used freely within communities of colour but not by white people and claiming free use of the N word would restore equality, revealed a breathtaking lack of comprehension…
ATTACK EVERY “BIGOTRY” BUT THE LEFT’S
Everyone agreed abusing people was wrong and no one had a right to be a bigot:
KENNETH ROTH: … the Attorney-General … should be saying “Bigotry is wrong.” That’s what a public officials should do.
MONA ELTAHAWY: Yes.
ILWAD ELMAN: I think that particular statement people have the right to become bigots is very worrisome… At what point is the right to freedom of speech crossing on hate?
But not a single panellist then protested at the bigotry of one panellist who twice vilified free speech advocates as “old, rich, white men”, who must of course be racist and sexist:
MONA ELTAHAWY: First of all, in the United States, the people who go on the most about freedom of expression and it’s my right to say this and my right to say that are usually old, rich, white men who parade under the term libertarian. And what it ends up basically meaning is: I have the right to be a racist and sexist shit and I’m protected by the first amendment…
MONA ELTAHAWY: The reason that they said that, actually, you know, this is actually all about the free market. This is why I am bringing in the rich, old, white men.
SLANDER GADFLIES, SATIRISTS, CONSERVATIVES, ENEMIES OF JIHAD AND FRIENDS OF ISRAEL AND DEMAND THEY BE SILENCED
Everyone bar Tim Wilson seemed to agree using the law to silence certain people they vilify as “bigots” or racists was great:
LUCY SIEGLE: So what I would like to say is that there are a lot of contrarian columnists around. I have worked in newspapers for years… From the moment the printing press was invented there were people who worked out if you take a contrarian, shock jock point of view, you’re going to get a lot of attention and a lot of money. I don’t think we should change laws to protect their freedom of speech. We have a similar issue in the UK, where we have contrarian columnists and certain comedians who aren’t very funny but bigotry is part of their act and the whole debate is centred around how we can protect them and enable their free speech and I think we’re looking at protecting the wrong people…
But one panellist, Eltahawy, demonstrated how dangerously loose the term “bigot” now is – how it can actually be used to attack those fighting bigotry. Eltahawy seemed to argue that to support a democracy against a fascist terrorist movement was actually racist, and the position of “hate groups”:
MONA ELTAHAWY [speaking of a subway sign she defaced]: It said: “In the war between the civilised man and the savage, always choose the civilised man. Support Israel. Defeat Jihad.” And I thought: are you f…ing kidding me? In my subway? How can you put this up? And the subway - the subway authorities did not want this ad, because they said it was going to incite people and so they took it to the hate group and it’s been classified as a hate group by the - it’s the Southern [Poverty] Law Centre… They have deemed it a hate group. They have deep pockets, these libertarian, you know, old rich white men. And they took it to a judge and the judge deemed it protected political speech. I am fine with protected political speech but surely it should be my right to protest racism and bigotry? … But my fight here is the kind of language used in the ad and what is acceptable now and you were saying earlier that it’s not just the law…
(NOTE: The poster was not at all the work of an “old, rich white man” but of a Jewish woman, Pamela Geller.)
HATE THE WEST
Eltahawy painted the West as the home of bigots and sell-outs. No speakers protested, and some added further condemnation of Australia:
MONA ELTAHAWY: I now live in Egypt but I was in the US for 13 years, Muslims are fair game.
MONA ELTAHAWY: I would like to know, one, the name of at least one western country that has this so-called ethical foreign policy that we often hear about. I think most western countries have disgraceful records … I think your main concern is to sell our regimes and our dictators weapons. You turn a blind eye to torture…
MONA ELTAHAWY: … none of you do absolutely anything to help us. You’ve always sold us out, so what’s new?…
MONA ELTAHAWY: I think sometimes it helps in these discussions to get really down to the bare bones and just say it as it is and that is people are scared of brown and black people coming into your country. And that’s essentially what it is.
(Note: Eltahawy protested for the removal of the democratically elected Muslim Brotherhood president of Egypt. Now she protests against the military regime that inevitably replaced it.)
ABUSE AUSTRALIA, AND ESPECIALLY ITS LIBERAL GOVERNMENT:
All but Tim Wilson agreed the Government was hopeless and anachronistic, even the host:
TONY JONES: Yeah. Are you surprised, though, that we would go for such an anachronistic form or return to such an anachronistic form of honours?
KENNETH ROTH: Well, it’s sadly characteristic of this Government now…
ILWAD ELMAN: …it seems like Australia is regressing a little bit …
MONA ELTAHAWY: …I think, you know, your Prime Minister is a walking anachronistic - I don’t know what else to call him - Prime Minister …
ILWAD ELMAN: I think Australia is taking a lot of very horrific positions and putting itself in very difficult situations. They’re cuddling up with Sri Lanka, cutting off the boats and celebrating they haven’t had - they have had 100 days of no boats coming in, talking about how Australians should be bigots…
LUCY SIEGLE: Just, as Ilwad said, some of the positions that the Australian Government is taking on behalf of the nation, they sound toxic to outsiders.
USE ABUSIVE LANGUAGE, THE LANGUAGE OF BARBARIANS
One panelist had no trouble with using offensive language after all, and no one dared protest her lack of courtesy and civility:
MONA ELTAHAWY: ... they asked us if we wanted to join the Commonwealth, we said “F… no"…. And I thought: are you f…ing kidding me?.... we’re truly well and truly f…ed… So you can see why I say we are well and truly f…ed
DEMONISE OUR ATTEMPTS TO CONTROL OUR BORDERS
Everyone seemed critical of the Abbott Government’s boat people policy, and when one audience member put a contrary view a panellist and the host badgered him and misled and misinformed him with a grossly offensive analogies and what a judge would call factual inaccuracies:
ANDREW WILSON [audience member]: The death at Manus Island was a tragedy. People are obviously desperate when they have paid thousands of dollars to people smugglers and have no hope of coming here. Yet, why did the ABC show no similar outrage for the thousands of deaths caused by the dismantling of the Pacific Solution?
TONY JONES: I will go to Ken Roth on this and this is the justification for stopping the boats, that thousands of people died at sea. Before we do, I will just quickly take issue with your point there, because I reject the characterisation of the ABC’s role in this. In fact, some of the most graphic reporting on this was done by ABC reporters, including finding ships that nobody even knew had been lost at sea and finding the detail on those. So I just discount what you are saying.
ANDREW WILSON: Well, I take issue with that. You never once opposed the previous Government’s policy in my reading of the ABC…
(NOTE: Wilson is right. I do not recall the ABC covering any of the first drownings. I recall the ABC instead running for years with the Labor Government’s deceitful claim that boat people weren’t actually being lured to their deaths by the policies made too soft. I recall the ABC mocking Abbott’s promise to turn back the boats, a promise he’s actually fulfilled. And note, seconds earlier Jones was still attacking as too harsh the measures the Government took to stop the boats – and the drownings.)
TONY JONES: OK. Alright. Ken Roth?
KENNETH ROTH: Well, first, if I could, just let me address the 100 days without a boat because, you know, the question really is how did that happen. You know, if I said we’re going to execute everybody who shows up in a boat, the boats would stop. Is that a fair way to do it? No.
(NOTE: What an utterly bizarre analogy. Nothing remotely so cruel is being proposed and never would be. Fact: the harm averted outweights the harm caused. Fewer people are drowning, fewer people are in detention, and fewer boat people are taking the places of genuine refugees.)
ANDREW WILSON: Look, we can take a lot - immigration has been great for the country and we can take a lot more immigrants but you can’t take people to put them onto the dole....
KENNETH ROTH: Well, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. So what is the assumption here: that because somebody seeks asylum they go on the dole?
ANDREW WILSON: No. But…
KENNETH ROTH: I mean, please… My father was an asylum seeker.... He fled Nazi Germany. He went to New York… Do you think he was ever, for one minute of his life, on the dole? And I think that is the norm for asylum seekers.
(NOTE: Completely false. A Department of Immigration survey in 2011 confirmed that 85 per cent of refugees were on social security payments even after five years here – including 94 per cent of all Afghan refugees. Wilson was right, Roth very wrong.)
AND ADD GLOBAL WARMING ALARMISM
And what’s a Q&A episode without some global warming alarmism?
LUCY SIEGLE: If you saw the intergovernmental panel on climate change issuing today the 300 scientists who have come to the consensus on what’s happening with climate change, it is not good news. And one of the things that it will mean is that more and more people will have to migrate. So we are looking at increasingly large numbers of people who need somewhere else to be, need somewhere else to live for environmental reasons …
Look at Q&A and despair. A culture of savage nihilism is engulfing us, and our right to even protest is being stripped away.

ABC managing director Mark Scott is about to deliver a big lecture tonight on the media. He will say that claims the ABC is biased are exaggerated.
Many Say that this is Mona's finest hour

Sam Ibrahim, Rose Tattoo drummer arrested over alleged gun running
Mark Morrie
The Daily Telegraph
April 1 2014
FORMER bikie boss Sam Ibrahim and drummer for rock band Rose Tattoo, Paul De Marco, have been charged after being arrested as part of investigations into an alleged gun running syndicate.
The pair were swept up in a series of early morning raids today along with Sam’s sister Maha Sayour. Police also seized 13 weapons resulting from the six-month undercover operation in western Sydney.
De Marco, 55, has been charged with 27 counts including supplying a pistol to an unauthorised person, supplying ammunition, supplying a prohibited firearm and supplying a prohibited weapon.
Ibrahim, 45, was charged with four counts related to the supply of a pistol to an unauthorised person, conspiracy to commit an offence – supplying a firearm to an unauthorised person and supplying a prohibited firearm which is subject to a prohibition order.
They have been refused bail and are due to appear at Blacktown Local Court via audio visual link today.
Sayour, 43, was charged with conspiracy to commit offence – supply firearm to person unauthorised to possess.
She has been refused bail and is due to appear at Wollongong Local Court today.
Investigations are continuing and further arrests are expected.
Ibrahim’s solicitor, Brett Galloway, said his client was unlikely to make a bail application.
”I’ve not yet seen the facts ... these are serious charges and these things need to be given great consideration,’’ Mr Galloway told Fairfax.
Following extensive inquiries, police from North West Metropolitan Region, assisted by specialist units, executed six simultaneous search warrants at Windsor, Greystanes, Londonderry, Castlereagh, St Marys and Warilla, about 6.15am today.
Police allege that during today’s search warrants, investigators located and seized five firearms, various calibres of ammunition, illicit drugs and steroids.
Investigations are continuing and further arrests are expected.
Police say a total of 18 illegal weapons have been seized during the investigation.
The 18 seized weapons - which included an M1 military assault rifle, shotguns, semi-automatic pistols and bullets - are being examined to see if they were used in any shootings in Sydney over the past three years.
”When you look at some of the guns, you shake your head and wonder what that firepower would do if it got into the wrong hands,’’ Assistant Commissioner Denis Clifford told a press conference.
”This will no doubt put a significant dent in the organised sale of illegal firearms in western Sydney, but we’re sure there’s a lot more out there.’’
He expects more arrests over the alleged syndicate.
The 13 guns bought in October were all purchased in western Sydney, though police believe the sales syndicate also operated in the Illawarra region.
The M1 assault rifle is a military-issued gun and cannot be legally bought by licensed gun owners.

Finally Justice for Mohammed Issai Issaka following Islamic Insurgency Riots September 2012
Sydney rioter to serve six months in jail
AAP
April 1, 2014.
A Sydney man will serve six months in jail for his role in a violent Muslim protest after a court rejected his appeal.
Mohammed Issai Issaka, 44, was sentenced to a minimum of six months' jail in November but launched an appeal an hour later and was granted bail.
District Court Chief Judge Reg Blanch dismissed Issaka's appeal against the sentence's severity, despite the man saying he was now "very, very sorry" for his actions and would avoid attending protests.
He will be eligible for parole on September 30.
The father of eight claims he suffered a fractured jaw, a chipped tooth and injuries from police batons in the riot, but has forgiven police.
He had pleaded not guilty to rioting and resisting arrest in the September 2012 protest in Sydney's city centre.
About 500 people took to the CBD on that day to rally against a controversial anti-Islam film produced in the US.
The rally turned violent with police arresting a number of protesters and calling in the riot squad.
Issaka told the court he had reflected on his actions since pleading not guilty and was now sorry.
He asked for leniency given he was his family's sole breadwinner.
"I pondered on what I have done and I changed my mind," he said.
"I am very, very sorry and remorseful for what I have done.
"Since that day in the protest, I haven't attended any protests and I am not thinking of attending any."
Justice Blanch said he accepted that Issaka, who was involved in charity work in his community, was "otherwise a decent person" and a good
father and husband.
But he warned that people involved in rioting must understand there would be "serious consequences" to their actions.
He said Issaka was entitled to feel strongly about the film.
"But joining a protest is one thing and participating in a riot is something entirely different," the judge said.
Justice Blanch also noted that Issaka assaulted a police officer as he was being arrested.
"Police are entitled to go about their business without fear of being assaulted in the course of their normal duties," he told the court.

Pro-pederasty past deserves an ABC apology
Gerard Henderson
The Australian

March 15 2014
THE line in last Monday’s Four Corners program on ABC television, The Boy with the Henna Tattoo, was unequivocal. Reporter Caro Meldrum-Hanna condemned the practice once commonly called pederasty — homosexual relations between a male adult and a boy.
The program dealt with the shocking case of two men, the Australian Peter Truong and the American Mark Newton, whose adopted baby boy was both personally abused and trafficked for sex. Meldrum-Hanna referred to the “depraved world inhabited by ... a small group of hardcore pedophiles who call themselves Boylovers”.
The Boy with the Henna Tattoo serves as an important reminder of how attitudes have changed at the public broadcaster and elsewhere with respect to pedophilia. Only four decades ago, pedophilia was a radical but fashionable endeavour within certain circles.
The then ABC radio program Lateline was established by the left-wing radical ABC operative Allan Ashbolt (1921-2005). It was Ashbolt who commenced the left-wing stack of the taxpayer-funded public broadcaster and his influence is still felt today. In his sympathetic history This is the ABC (MUP, 1983), Ken Inglis refers to “Ashbolt’s (ABC) kindergarten”.
It was in Ashbolt’s time that the ABC phenomenon emerged where debates were held in which everyone agrees with everyone else, including the presenter — all in a leftist way. And so it came to pass on July 14, 1975, when Richard Neville presented a Lateline program on pederasty where three adult men proclaimed what a great idea it was to have sex with boys. No other view was heard on the program.
Not surprisingly, the Lateline program on pederasty was subjected to considerable criticism by, among others, the Reverend Fred Nile (then of the morally conservative Festival of Light) and The Sydney Morning Herald. Needless to say, Nile and his fellow critics were dismissed and ridiculed. In his 1979 book Outside Interference: The Politics of Australian Broadcasting, ABC friend and one-time board member Richard Harding declared that the pederasty program “was too much for the susceptibilities of some worthy citizens”.
However, the most extraordinary intervention in the debate came from the then ABC chairman, Richard Downing. He said that “in general, men will sleep with young boys and that’s the sort of thing the community ought to know about”.
In a letter to The Sydney Morning Herald, published on July 19, 1975, Downing argued that “the phenomenon of pederasty” was “appropriate for public discussion in a society which, if it is to be open, democratic and responsible, needs also to understand the diverse natures of the people who compose that society”.
In other words, Downing stated that pederasty or “boylove” was an acceptable form of sexual behaviour which needed to be understood.
ABC staff today are invariably calling on others to apologise for the inappropriate and/or criminal behaviour in the past of individuals or organisations. Perhaps the current ABC board might consider a mea culpa for the position taken by the ABC chairman just four decades ago in favour of adult men having sex with boys.
In an article in the September 1984 issue of Quadrant magazine entitled “Paedophile Liberation and the Radical Homosexuals”, writer Andrew Lansdown documented how pederasty had become fashionable within sections of the Australian Left in the 1970s and 80s. He quoted an article in OutRage magazine which declared its “defence of the civil liberties of paedophiles”.
Of course, it was not only underage boys who were regarded as suitable sexual partners at the time. In his 1970 book Play Power, Neville (who was born in 1941) boasted of having a “hurricane f . . k” with a “moderately attractive, intelligent, cherubic fourteen-year-old girl from a nearby London comprehensive school”. In the early 70s, the author of Play Power had no trouble in getting an ABC gig when he returned to Australia and in receiving support from the highest echelons in the ABC for inviting three pederasts on to his program.
In his Quadrant article, Lansdown documented the existence in Australia at the time of a Paedophile Support Group. In recent weeks there has been controversy (in The Mail and elsewhere) over the Paedophile Information Exchange which existed in Britain in the 70s and 80s. The PIE was affiliated with the National Council for Civil Liberties.
Prominent members of the NCCL at the time included Patricia Hewitt (the Australian-born Labour MP who became a member of Tony Blair’s cabinet), Harriet Harman (currently the deputy leader of the British Labour Party) and Jack Dromey (the Labour spokesman on policing). As Toby Young has revealed in Britain’s The Daily Telegraph, in 1976 Hewitt, as the NCCL’s general secretary, issued a press release advocating that the age of consent should be lowered to 10 years of age. Hewitt has since apologised.
At the time, the PIE advocated that the age of consent should be lowered to four years of age. As Rod Liddle commented in The Sunday Times, the NCCL was “perfectly happy for its affiliate” to advocate sex between adult men and four-year-olds. Liddle quoted the NCCL at the time saying that “childhood sexual experiences, willingly engaged in with an adult, result in no identifiable damage”.
In November 2012, the British historian Dominic Sandbrook reviewed Ben Thompson’s edited collection Ban this filth!: Mary Whitehouse and the Battle to Keep Britain Innocent.
Whitehouse (1910-2001) was a morals campaigner and much mocked by self-declared progressive libertarians. In late 2012, Sandbrook reflected that when “reading this book during the fallout of the (BBC’s) Jimmy Savile scandal” he wondered if Whitehouse was “quite as cranky as she looked” at the time.
Sandbrook quoted from a letter Whitehouse wrote to the BBC in 1973 objecting to the words of a song on the show Crackerjack in which the male singer suggested that “Every growin’ boy/ Needs a little joy/ Do you want to touch me there?” The song was titled Do You Wanna Touch Me? (Oh Yeah!) and the singer-songwriter was none other than Gary Glitter — who, in time, became a convicted pedophile.
For all her oddities, Whitehouse spoke a truth denied by such pedophiles as Savile, Glitter and those, like Downing, who rationalised what was once termed “inter-generational sex”.
This might make for a revealing Four Corners story one day.

Australia 100 Days free of Islamic Insurgents arriving illegally by boat,Labor Green Loon's Outraged
The Hon. Tony Abbott MP
Prime Minister
The Hon. Scott Morrison MP
Minister for Immigration and Border Protection
Today marks 100 days since the last successful people smuggling venture to Australia.
The last successful people smuggling venture to Australia occurred on 19 December last year. During the same 100 day period a year ago (20 December 2012 – 29 March 2013), 66 illegal boats carrying 3,879 people arrived.
This is the longest period without a successful venture since before the Howard Government’s strong border protection policies were abandoned by Labor and Kevin Rudd in August 2008.
The Coalition went to the last election with clear policies to stop the boats. We are delivering on our pledge to stop the boats.
The Government has made difficult but necessary decisions to secure our borders and restore what Labor had destroyed. These strong policies are saving lives.
Operation Sovereign Borders is working as intended. We acknowledge the work and dedication of the people and agencies across government in making this happen. They are doing a great service for our nation.

Under Labor over 800 boats arrived carrying more than 50,000 people, including more than 8,000 children. This catastrophic policy failure resulted in over 1,000 lives lost at sea and $11 billion in Budget blowouts.
While this milestone recognises the progress that we have made, the Government remains resolute in our determination to stop the boats.
